What made you choose the college you went to?

Just wondering!!:) :bounce:

I went to Concordia Teachers College for two reasons...I wanted to get a teaching degree and I had a good friend that was going there. Also Chicago sounded real exciting to a small-town girl!!

My DS picked Hillsdale College because of a full-ride schlorlarship to play basketball.

What influenced your decision?? Parents, friends, $$, certain type of education.....?

Both my parents went there, great place to get first 2 years of college at cheaper cost to me, Close to home so I could live at home, I already knew the city well.

I went to Grand Rapids Community College.

My dad works for the UT medical department, so I get 50% of tuition. :) Also, the school is huge with lots of options for classes.

<font color=navy>Definitely location. I could ride my bike there, and walk on rainy days.

It has the best journalism school in the country -- University of Missouri.

It was a bonus that I lived in Kansas City at the time and got state resident rates for tuition. :)

EROS???? and what school had that in it's curriculum???

OK, first college..parent's choice
second one....boyfriends choice
third one...my choice, but also money and location since by then I was paying....lol

I had a full ride academic scholarship to anywhere I want to go in the country. Since I grew up and lived in Indiana I chose Purdue University.

FOR GLO ........btw, I left out an important element. I had a baseball scholarship for 4 years. I wouldn't want you to think that I was completely corrupted;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ......

1.) Location -- it's within a hour's drive of my home.
2.) It was rated number 13 out of the top 100 colleges for Education in the North East United States, the other 2 schools I chose were #30 or not listed.
3.) It has a fully equipped weight room -- that's what sold me on the school when I took my campus tour! ROTFLOL!!! :teeth:

EROS, You corrupted?? What would make you think I would think that??

4 year baseball scholarship??? Hmmm I am impressed...I wanna see you in baseball uniform.... ;)

LOL...on the picture....you would definitely be part of that crew. Though I can see quite a few here belonging there too.... ;)

Actually only one thing, my best friend graduated a year ahead of me and she was going to the college I went to. Also it was close to home and I came home every weekend. I only graduated from a two year college. I was so "in love" and wanted to go ahead and get married!:) Still married to him too. Kitty, check your email, I emailed you this afternoon!

Eros.... baseball huh?? I could almost believe the 1st 3 reasons you gave more!!!!;) ;) ;)

offered program i wanted. nuclear medicine

mainly because I had a full scholarship and it was close to home. I was so "in-love" then that I didn't care about school. Wish I had cared more and gone to Ole Miss where I had partial scholarship as well. Don't get me wrong I love my DH more than anything but I would have loved a job in journalism...still would for that matter....

Well, the most influential factor is that my University is close enough that I can still live at home (which is great!). :) Also, it's a nice school, is one of the few schools in Canada that offers my specific Engineering program, and our Engineering faculty has a good reputation.

Because it was inexpensive and close to home. I wasn't going to live at home, but I did want to be near by my dad since 1 1/2 years before my mom died. I was planning on going as far away as possible but I changed my mind. I did have a fair amount of friends going there too so that helped. Oh and it was the only college I applied to as well so that made it easy come acceptance time :)

I went here because of the following:

1) I received an academic scholarship.
2) My mother refused to pay for me to go to Northern IL Univ. (where this boy that I really liked attended.)
3) It is a top notch school!!
