What made VMK so addictive?

For me, it's the closest thing I have to the Disney parks when I'm at home, and I also have so many great friends there. I think the theme of VMK being Disney parks makes it so versatile with themes, since most games like Toontown or Pirates only have one theme, but VMK has just about everything.

The friends, the Disney Magic, people not being able to go to the Disney Parks and actually being able to join in on an online multiplayer game. Especially; if other families live away from eachother and the parents dont let the kids join forums, AIM, MSN, or anything else that includes chatting, then they all talk to eachother on VMK. To answer the topic question : Even if I was not always happy with the way VMK is seeing the word fairness, I think what made me play is the fact that I could build rooms, being in a theme park without being in it (a bit like if I was playing RCT but the way Sulake created VMK is better in my opinion than the graphics of RCT), the new items, ..

Making friends

And I always wanted to be richer and keep up with all of he new items!

I personally think it is because:

ITS FUN!!

VMK was the closest i could ever get to Disney Land, i live in the UK. And i cant pay for it

So VMK was like my home, if i ever fell out with my friends. I always went on VMK that made me feel so special and happy

Seeing my friends, playing mini games like pirates and fireworks and hanging out with peoples! It was most addicting in the beginning when I needed to finish all the quests for car, space, and dive..I would need to finish a bunch of them in a day so I could relax and earn stuff for the rest of the time..

umm. getting new items, trying to get rare items, playing pirates, firework and haunted mansion, building guest rooms, hanging with friends, seeing the hosts, host games, host rooms, fun quests, cute or boot . idk what it is, but vmk was just so addicting.

to me, it was like i was at disneyland

well first and foremost you have to have a love of the disney parks to enjoy playing it, and since vmk re-creates them pretty well then that gets you hooked. the interactive way you can make friends keeps you there along with the games (fireworks had me addicted)....and for a lot of ppl (not me) the pursuit of acquiring stuff in the game had them addicted. vmk had enough going for it to please most ppl, that's why it was so hard to leave the game after a long time.
