Certain things are such a treat in Disney that is you find anything similar while not there, you will always think it reminds you of Disney. For example, when we were younger and went with my parents a couple times a year, we always got a resort mug. My parents never. EVER bought us soft drinks (pop or soda for those of you who use those words ;) ), but while in Disney, we ALWAYS drank cherry coke! The taste of cherry coke does and always will remind me of filling up my resort mug and drinking that delicious stuff! Seriously, everytime i take a sip i can picture the mug fill stations! haha

So what little things remind you of Disney?

So many things! The feel of the humidity and really hot sun beating down reminds me of walking around the parks. The smell of certain water brings me back to Pirates or Living with the Land. The hot smell of vegetation and plants makes me think of the different areas of WDW that have been baking in the sun all day.

Sometimes I wish I could capture that fresh hotel room smell, the one that seems so strong right as you enter your room for the very first time. Tons of small little things, really.

Looking forward to reading others'!

The smell of cedar - especially when it's a freshly installed fence or deck and it is humid out.

Because I love to think of Disney, I use cedar mulch!

Oddly enough, it is the citrus restroom cleaner. I have walked into a few non-Disney washrooms where they use the same and it is very evocative. As a mom of three kids, we spent as much time in the washrooms at Disney as on the attractions, I kid you not! :rotfl:

The smell of the water on Splash Mountain. When I smell it, I know I'm at Disney. The smell of baking cookies on Main Street. Oddly, I can't seem to find anything here at home that takes me back to Disney World, not even when I bake my own cookies!

Oh, can't forget the smell of the funnel cakes and the homemade water park donuts. Yum!

Well, this one is not so much smells, but rather a feeling. The first time I ever rode a Disney bus in 1997, I will never forget riding on the cold air conditioned buses at night with the lights off. There's just something about that, that takes me back to Dixie Landings circa 1997 each time and I love the memories.

The sound of the water taxi coming down the river as I get off the ME bus at POR. My screensaver is a pic of the water on the river; if I think hard enough, I can hear it sitting in my office and it brings a smile to my face.

One fall morning I was walking my son to the bus stop and our road smelled like when you first open the door of your hotel room and breathe in Disney air :). It must have been the humidity and smell of the trees combined (and I am in New England so it was very weird).

Also sometimes the musty smells in basements remind me of the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Well at our church this last weekend the pastor was doing a series involving past US important figures including previous presidents, etc. My middle daughter leaned over and said Mom, I feel like we are in the Hall of Presidents LOL.

also, I can't remember where we were but it smelt like Figment's attraction lol....not the skunk smell:goodvibes

We live in an old house, and our basement was a "root cellar" (walls made with big stones). Sort of a damp, cool, fresh, rocky smell... It smells like Pirates of the Caribbean!!!! (aren't I lucky?):sail:

O my goodness! I am loving all these! Does anyone remeber (and miss like i do) that awesome powder soap that used to be in all the bathrooms? Man i loved that stuff and miss it EVERYTIME! you could just feel it scrubbing away the germs!

Just had a thought... wouldn't it be GREAT if Disney developed a line of home scents (like the plug-in ones) that smelled like the most loved smells in WDW? I'd love my house to smell like Main Street, or the Grand Floridian, or Haunted Mansion in October!

Heidi Lou I'll be visiting The Mouse the same time as you!!! (8/24-8/31) We've been going that same weeks for years!

We don't normally get desserts when we go out to dinner, but when we do I always think of Disney and the dining plan. :rotfl2:

This may sound crazy, but some mornings when we step out side if it is sunny and beautiful and if it has that feel in the air of an early morning at Disney, we will say it feel like a Disney Day! :goodvibes

Yes. The heat and humidity. Several years ago, we took our daughter and niece to Disney. It was in July and it was really hot for the whole week. On the trip back home somehow we started talking about the planets. My niece wanted to know which planet was the hottest. I told her I think it is Mercury because it is closest to the sun and it is very, very hot. She asked me, "is it hotter than Disneyworld?"

A perfume that I purchased for my daughters just before our last trip. They used it everyday while we were there. They rarely wear it now but when they do it takes me back. Love it!

I would agree with the OP. I always drink Cherry Coke from the refillable mugs at Disney for breakfast with a bagel. I rarely drink soda at home anymore, but when I see or taste it, I am transported right to Disney breakfasts! Unfortunately, Cherry Coke disappeared for awhile from most drink stations, but I have heard it might be making a comeback.
