What lens to use?

We are going to WDW in Nov. I have a Canon Rebel xt. Is it best to just bring the 18- 55 mm? Or do you recomend an alternative lens to use as an all around lens? I really would like to just bring the camera & the lens attached instead of bringing the bag. ( The pack mule is full already). Any info would be greatly appriciated

I would probably just take the 18-55mm as I would think you'd want the wide angle more than the telephoto (last trip I used my 55-200mm telephoto twice, I think, from our balcony at BWI to get YC/BC, and at AK on Kilimanjaro Safaris--and my favorite picture from that safari was one my mom took on her p&s of my brother taking a picture of the flamingos on his cell phone, so...). Would it be a major pain to take both lenses to Florida, and then pick which one you wanted each day (maybe use the telephoto on your AK day or on a second day in one of the parks)?

Is kind of what I was thinking but they do have an 18-200. I guess I could use a doubler if needed. isnt to much to carry Thanks for the info. all is welcome

you don't need that or a "doubler"
just take the XT and the 18-55IS

If you're talking about the Canon 75-300, don't get it. It's not worth the price when you have the 55-250 available.


As far as the OP's question... I could do 95% of my shooting at WDW with the 18-55 very easily. I use a 28-105, but I mostly keep it at the wide end at WDW.

In the past I've brought other lenses and rarely used them, it was too much of a pain switching. This time I'm just bringing the standard 18-55mm.
