What kind of upgrades have you received at the Swan? I'm probably going to just flat out ask what is available. I figure it is worth a shot.

Anyone with experience with this?

Thanks

Shel

We have been there and have never gotten an upgrade. The cm, usually a guy with glasses, always likes to remind us how we are getting such a great deal already with our govt. rate. Gheesh. I have learned not to expect much, just the room and thats it. We will be there in about 2 weeks and I am not holding my breath. Last time he also reminded us that check in was 3 pm. We just stored the luggage. Good luck.

Give it a try! Last time I was there (with teacher's rate) asked if balcony was available. We got a room facing Epcot, saw the fireworks there and at MK every night. Amazing. Worth a shot!

join spg.com, to startwith and you can get points for your stay,
We normally try to upgrade to Club Level for 1500 points. Got rate of 139 for thanksgiving weekend. Sometimes they don't have any availablity to upgrade, never hurts to ask. You also get a late check-out if available. When rates are low then availablity is not normally a problem.

DH and I were just there last weekend. We had the nurses rate at $149.00. I didn't ask, but it was noted that it was my birthday and DH is a Starwood member. We were upgraded to a balcony, waterview.

When we were there 4 years ago. We were upgraded to Club level for free.

When we were leaving last Monday, there was a huge convention coming in. We asked someone and he said they are booked solid for the next week.

Ask! Can't hurt!

In our 18 stays at the S/D, there has been only once that we were not upgraded to a balcony with Epcot view. And we've never paid full price.
