What kind of sunblock lotion do you use?

This summer I bought 4 bottles of Walmart's No-Ad 30 spf. It comes highly rated on Consumer reports I believe that's where I saw the report.

I had to buy it online cause my store doesn't stock it anymore so I just had it shipped to the store free for pick up.

We use a lot of sunscreen as we have a large family. I try to stick to fragrance free. This year we are using kinesys as cosco has it pretty cheap. It was supposed to be healthier but it scored a 3, they seem to have changed their formula to make it healthier but as it's a spray the safety wise it's not too bad. Sometimes I have bad ezema on my hands so contact with sunscreen is a not good.

I used any old thing for years. But the last 2 summers and our last Disney trip I started getting hives in the sun. Large red welts all over my chest and arms.:sad2:

They don't itch.. they're just ugly. I don't know if it's sunscreen or the sun itself. I suspect the sun actually becuase they get smaller and almost go away after a few hours indoors.. but it's hard to say because they also have occurred on days that I use sunscreen. I don't bother with it if I am out running errands or something, but for a day doing yardwork or in the Disney Parks I do.
So.. all that to say I bought L'oreal Ombrelle yesterday. Not cheap by any means.. but it is hypo allergenic and dye and fragrance free. We'll see if it helps.

ETA) I just realized something as I hit send. I never get them on my face. And I don't put sunscreen on my face! I have a very gentle moisturizer that is SPF 25 that I use for my face. I'll bet it is the sunscreen I was using afterall!

It took me two Disney trips and a trip to Busch Gardens to figure out that the rash/hives I kept getting was due to using Banana Boat Sport. It took me forever to figure that one out! Other brands seem fine, although I stick to Neutrogena and Aveeno most of the time because I know they won't cause a rash and I don't want that again!

I went to the Skin Cancer Foundation website to see which ones are recommended. I stick with Banana Boat as I know they are on the list and recommended as one that really protects.

I'm using bullfrog now and it seems to work well. What I will NOT use anymore is Coppertone Sport. There's something about that formulation that makes my polish get tacky and start to rub off. And a pre vacation mani/pedi is just to expensive to ruin with a bottle of lotion. Besides, if it will start to dissolve my nail polish just what the heck is it doing to my skin?:scared1:

Interesting.. Banana Boat is what I was using as well! Haven't had any problems this summer with the O'mbrelle.

I use Neutrogena Dry Touch SPF 85. It doesn't leave a greasy film on my skin & it works really well. Target makes a store brand that seems to work just as well.

I use Netrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch, SPF 60 (I think? One of the higher ones anyway) when I'll be in strong sun all day (WDW, day trips to the zoo, etc.) and Burts Bee's SPF 15 for days when I'll be in and out of the sun all day (running errands on the weekend). I love Neutrogena, I'm as pale as pale can be and didn't even darken while in WDW for 5 days this past May, let alone burn. I came home and people were like "I thought you went on vacation? Where's your tan?"!!!
