hi everyone! we are taking our first trip in nov! my son will be almost 5 and my other son will be 7 months. we will be driving down. typically i would have umbrella stroller for older son and infant seat/stroller system for the baby. i know bringing 2 strollers is probably not the best solution - any ideas -- should i go with a double stroller -- should we rent one down there -- any one have tips ideas -- thanks a million!

I don't know what stroller you have for you infant but you might check to see if you fold your umbrella if it will fit betweent the basket and handle of the infant stroller. If it will I would take those two. That way if your older one wants to walk you have that option without still having to deal with 2 strollers. Also umbrella's are so much cheaper than renting down there that if you decide it is too much to bring back you can leave that one.

its a graco -- the 2 in one system -- where his car seat just snaps into the stroller or into the car seat base -- i don't have any other ideas for him -- because he will only be 7 months old -- anyone else?? ive heard about the maclaren triumph stroller - im thinking of ordering this for my 4 year old -- just not sure what to do with the baby -- lol

Hi! I am a stroller feen! I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old. We live next to Disneyland and go all the time. You can rent strollers which would be the best option if you aren't looking to use the stroller that often. The disney strollers are better suited for older kids and not babies. So you could bring your regular stroller for the baby and then rent one for you older son. If you are looking to buy a stroller than I would suggest a Maclaren. They have 2 types of umbrella double strollers. They are easy to push, are tall enough for older children and the quality is amazing! They are light and great for travel two. I am sure you could pick up a used one for cheap on craigslist and currently many online stores are selling the 2007 models at a discount. I use a baby carrier with my 1 year old also because holding a squiggly baby in line for an hour gets tiring! I recommend an Ergo, Yamo or Beco for this. Really comfortable and easy to use and can be picked up cheaper on ebay, craigslist or babywearer.com forums. Alot of people skip the stroller and use the carrier and a sunhat for the baby. I do both. Hope this helps. Have fun!

anyone have opinons on a double stroller -- or know a good one. to where i could snap the babys car seat into that and have my 5 year old in that as well??

I wouldn't leave the baby in a car seat for a day at the parks. It is just too long without enough room for baby s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g. I would put the baby in a reclining stroller. A Maclaren double would work (there are 2 or more models - some have more recline than others), or you could take the full sized stroller for your infant and rent a single for your 5 year old or buy something like the Maclaren volo (relatively inexpensive and has no recline) for your 5 year old (and then you could use it later when your baby is a toddler).

Bringing 2 stroller isn't a bad idea if there are 2 adults. This would allow one of you to go back to your resort with the infant while the other adult continues touring at a park with your 5 year old. Or, in our case, allow one adult to take the older child to the parks before the younger one wakes from napping.

Enjoy!
