What kind of souvenirs do you guys bring home?

Last year we came back with 4 shirts, an antenae topper, a new computer backpack, 1 pair of crocs, 2 bucket hats for the kids, an Olaf plush, a refrigerator magnet, a model monorail, 4 Disney Infinity characters and a Christmas ornament.

After twenty-eight years of vacationing at WDW, I think we have every kind of souvenir lol. Now we only buy what we really need. Last year it was a Disney sugar canister, the year before a Disney tea kettle. My husband used to buy nutcrackers from the German pavilion but stopped when they got too expensive. If something jumps out at us, we will buy it...the pretty Alice in Wonderland tea cup/saucer... but now that our kids are adults, don't buy that much. We bring back some Disney cookies and chocolate so that we bring back a "taste" of WDW.

Christmas ornament for me. Silk Tie for DH, he loves wearing them to work. Hat for DD. DD also gets $50 to spend on whatever she wants, usually toys she never plays with again after the trip is over . I try my best to ban any stuffed animal purchase because they seem to breed and multiply in the night - but it's a battle I don't always win. (DD has about 900 stuffed animals and counting. Seriously. Most are in living storage tubs. I just don't get the appeal.)

I'd like to add something new this trip. Not sure what though! Their beach towels are very nice. I got one last time and it's held up really well.

I usually try to get one stuffed mickey or someone representing the respected park it belongs to. I also try and pick up park exclusive mugs now I really want the star bucks ones!

Was wondering what the starbucks mug has on it? Hubby loves his starbucks!

Mickey ears with names first trip; lots of pins and lanyards for pin-trading, silly hats for the boys that they can wear on silly hat day at school, warm clothes on our honeymoon in January because it was sooo much colder than either of us expected, lots of coffee mugs, one nice Mickey watch, a beach towel (another freezing day on our 15th anniversary trip - you'd think we'd have learned 15 years earlier), a princess tiara for my birthday, and (flamesuit on) one of those light-up bubble blowing gun things they sell over by RNR when littlest was about 4. We didn't let him shoot them at anybody, or use them in lines or spill the bubble juice so someone could slip and fall or get bubbles on anyone that might be allergic....Oh yeah - 2 build-your-own light sabers, a wookie backpack and a Yoda backpack at Star Traders.

I'm definitely stocking up on wine glasses. I always seem to break them.

The charm idea is great. Just recently started a charm bracelet.

People flame about bubbles? I didn't realize there were so many bubble haters out there...

I get Christmas ornaments & t-shirts. DH & DD get pins, t-shirts. DD got a Duffy bear & one outfit for it last trip. She might get another outfit next trip.

Yep - I don't like bubbles on my camera lenses, for example. Sure, I can clean that, but I'd prefer to not have to. But, I like bubbles, so I'm just smart about hiding it away when a bubble gun user is around! My usual travel companion hates them on his glasses - he doesn't like cleaning his glasses.

I'm not sure what we are going to get this year. Definitely another Christmas ornament as I said earlier and the postcards. But recently, I've started a Santa collection for Christmas. Added a Mardi Gras Santa when we were at Mardi Gras in NOLA earlier this year. I'm assuming there will be a Mickey Santa or some sort of Disney Santa. Anyone seen one?

Also, other than costumes (since we have EVERY ONE), what sort of souvenirs do they have at the BBB? Or "jewelry" for little ones (my daughter is 4).

We've never really been into the whole t-shirt thing. However, with Grandma coming along to spoil her two darlings, who KNOWS what we will come home with! Must pack lightly!

Great thread!

I think it depends on how I'm feeling during that trip. In the past I've gotten a ring, Christmas ornaments, a purse (white with a peacock feather & hidden mickey), trinkets from Matsukoshi in the Japan pavilion (postcards, Hello Kitty pens, bottles of sake, candy/snacks), ear hats, magnets, and coffee mugs. The most frequent souvenirs I purchase are magnets & coffee mugs, though. I like little everyday reminders of the magic.

DBF always gets something food-related from Epcot, usually from the UK pavilion. Last year, he got tea in UK and hot mustard from Germany. This year, he got hot Irish mustard in the UK pavilion.

We get Christmas ornaments from wherever we travel. WDW vacations require 1 pin each (and additional pins for any special events like MNSSHP). I also always seem to pick up a new coffee mug while in WDW. DH collects pressed pennies and is allowed one new vinylmation per trip (which he may trade as much as he wants while there).

We don't buy anything we are not going to use, I don't like clutter. I always buy ears, I have two walls in my closet were I hang my disney ears.

Other than that we mostly buy stuff for the house. One of our Xmas trees has blue and white Mickey head ornaments, we have a Mickey Xmas wreath, and some disney ornaments that go in our garlands. We have Mickey mesuaring spoons. We have a few HM figurines we use for Halloween decorations, and a few for Christmas, lots of board games and some throws. While I do want our disney loving side to be part in our house, I don't want my house full of souvenirs. I love to have subtle touches like I have the jungle cruise elephants that I bought at the co op in my shelves next to the family room fire place. When I look at them I know disney, but anyone that is not a disney fan doesn't have a clue. I have my gold and white Cinderella thrown in the sitting room in our bedroom, but unless you look closely you don't notice that. You get the idea.

Most of our disney clothes we buy other places. I find they have better designs and selection out of disney.

I forgot what we buy most often and every single trip. The refillable mugs, not because we use them at the resort, but because those are the only mugs DH takes to work and no one steals them! I also bought the disney Starbucks to go mug this last trip.

I really like bringing cups home. Drinking out of Disney cups makes me happy :)

This year I think I might get an Alex + Ani bracelet.

We usually go in September or December so I try to buy all the " dated" stuff on clearance online before we go. I also use the same autograph book for DS over and over and write the year on each section. I like to buy something from the resort we stay at, DH LOVES to buy magnets. I always get at least 1 ornament for my Disney tree and 2-3 vinylmations. DS always gets a new stuffie.

Oh and EVERYTIME I see O! Lights I get the special mug with the hot chocolate in it. I have 2 already and hope to get another.

I love the idea of buying some souvies ahead and having the kids wake up to a new one each morning. We're doing Disney a little different this time. Oldest DS has his own place now, and his job doesn't allow him to go when we're going, so DS12 is really lamenting not having his big brother with him for this trip. At the same time, he's getting older too, so plushies and such do not really appeal to him now. So I'm trying to think of ways to make this trip special for him. Any suggestions for things that might appeal to a 12 year old boy?

My kids, and I forgot about this in my previous post, LOVE to get 'candy around the world'. They walk around the World Showcase in Epcot and get candy at a bunch of places. When DH and I go for F&W, without the kids, we get them this to bring home.

Coffee mug! Usually a Christmas ornament, too, though I've missed some years. I used to get pens, but the pens are kinda weak now, so after not really finding anything I liked for a few trips, I don't make it priority anymore.

Shirts for everybody to commemorate the trip, antenna toppers, and my DD started a fridge magnet tradition a couple of years ago. We have a extensive collecion of antenna toppers at home but we always buy 5 or 6 more every trip.
