What kind of SHOES to wear?

This is funny....I was looking at the Crocs that you all have posted about but I thought that they COULDN'T be comfortable! They just didn't look it. SO, I went out and bought these instead:

NOW, I did a Google for the shoes I bought and see that the two are the SAME BRAND! LOL

I just got the Teva W Circuit Leather. I had wanted to try the pretty ruggeds instead but the circuit one was $20 at Ross. Hopefully they will feel good. I bought Body Glide and today I'm wearing them w/the BG to the mall to try them out.
They look like this:

Ok I have horrible feet so I wear my ryka's. My poditrist would kill me if I didn't but for my DD I bought her Beach Trekers from Lands End. They are like a tennis shoe/watershoe/sandal hybrid. Toes are covered so she won't stubb them but they are ventalated and have arch support and padding in the sole. She loves them any wears them all summer!

I know you are asking for brands but here is a suggestion, change your shoes throughout the day if you can. Wear a pair to the park and then change for dinner. By changing your shoes you give your feet and back a break.

the brand is Privo -- same brand that makes Crocs. You can buy them off of their website or look around for stores that sell this brand. I bought them at our local mall, but it wasn't a regular large chain store we bought them at. It was a store that sells a lot of Clarks.

I'm an overweight OB nurse who works 12+ hour shifts 3 nights a week (consecutively). I used to wear Birkenstocks and my feet were fine until I got home and took them off. Leaving them on and being on my feet all day I was fine, it was after I got home, took them off, rested, and then tried to get up...OUCH!! Major hurt feet!

I now wear Crocs. I LOVE them! My feet never hurt, I wear them all day long, everyday and my feet always feel wonderful! I was skeptical, they are not that great looking and they don't look more like fluffy plastic. But boy that's some mighty great "plastic"!

Seriously these are the most comfortable things I've ever worn. I even bought ds5 a pair for our upcoming trip!

Huh? You may have Privos, but that is a photo of a women's Keen Newport H2 sandal. (If you look closely you can even see the Keen logo on the side.) Privos are made by Clarks. Clarks and Keen are not the same company at all: Clarks is a UK company that has been around forever, Keen is a California-based company founded 3 yrs. ago. by Martin Keen, a yachting enthusiast from Rhode Island. (He sold the rights to the name and is now working with Timberland on the Mion amphibious sport shoe line.)

Crocs is also California-based, but it is not the same company as Keen; Crocs is based in Niwot, Keen in Alameda. I can't find any evidence that Crocs is affiliated with Clarks, either.

BTW, Keens run small -- buy a size up from normal.

I love my crocs. I'm a nurse too and am on my feet for 12 hours straight and my feet are never sore since I got my crocs. I love, love, love them!!!! I also have a pair of the payless ones, not so good. They are ok for boppin' around, but if you're on your feet all day they are just not quite as comfortable. I think it's 2 things, the nubbies on the soles massage your feet, and they are just better material.

Yeah! I was thinking the same "huh?" Those are Keens. My daughter has that exact pair/color. I love my own Keens. They are great. No Crocs for me. :p On my last trip to WDW I wore Chacos a lot. The only thing is, my daughter and I got our feet in a tangle going up a monorail ramp and I broke my toe! My Keens would have protected my toes!! :guilty: Other than that, my Chacos were great, too. :)

I LIVE in my DANSKO clogs and they are the most comfy shoes ever for me! I taught for 9 months standing with 1st graders all day and my feet never hurt!

You're absolutely right...the pic I posted above look very much like the shoes I just bought but I was mistaken...I just did another google search and found them:

They are Privo Joyner's made by Clarks. I wore them to work yesterday and am very happy with my purchase!

How durable are crocs, i.e., how long will they last if you wear day in and day out, all day long? Will they melt on the hot pavement?

Ok--you guys have HELPED me SO much ! Thanks for ALL the info about what type of shoes to wear--now I've decided on Crocs BUT are the Payless version (Airwalk) just as comparable? thanks again!

14 more days before my FIRST trip to Disney!

Does anyone know if the Crocs run big or small? I read that they conform to your feet, but my feet swell up a lot. I'm looking for a good shoe as well. Thanks.
