That is pretty much right. After Traditions on Friday you can start work at any time. You will find out on Wednesday when you start training at your location and you can start anytime after Friday. For my roommates and I, one started Saturday, one Sunday, one Monday, and I started on Tuesday. My start date wasn't completely normal but I did have a fun time playing in the parks for several days, lol.

When you start location training, the first day is usually an orientation day to your park/resort and you get the rest of your training schedule and find out what costume you will have then so that you can buy shoes. You should also register for the HUB that day and most likely take some online training, at least based on my roommates and my experiences.

I checked in on a Wednesday. Traditions was Friday, I started training on Saturday. Sunday starts a new week here and my first full week I was scheduled 6 days - 44 hours.

Your first week schedule can basically be anything.
I checked-in on a Monday, had Tuesday to myself, Wednesday was Traditions, Thursday was my park orientation, and I had training Friday-Monday. Tues/Weds was my weekend, and my assessment was Thursday. VERY busy first week.

But a lot of my friends didn't start training until Saturday or Sunday, so they had a bunch of days off to explore the parks. While I wished I had those days to just play in the parks, when it came time for the first week paycheck, I had a niceeee one (since no rent is taken out), and they had a crappy one for two weeks in a row (since the second week is double rent, yikes).

I've read a lot about people going to the parks on the day in between check in and Traditions, but we don't get the id's that get us into the parks until Traditions, right? So when people go on day two, are they just paying for that day, or is there a way to get in without the id? Thanks! Just been wondering : )

Either they're buying tickets or have a friend who has a maingate willing to use it for them (the latter is how I went to MK on my off day, I have a friend with a silver pass)

What's the Hub?

While my son is up at school, I'm trying to gather as much info as I can for him.

TIA

I started working right away. I had to be at work at 7 AM most days, and so I usually had to wake up at 5 AM in order to ride the bus and all. It was insane! So they say to do all your sleeping before Traditions, and that's absolutely correct!
