I'm confused :confused3 I know to pack layers but what kind of jacket?? I'm leaving saturday for 2 weeks. I have 3 boys under 6 yrs old. For a jacket would a spring wind breaker be good with a long sleeve shirt. Or do I need heavier 3 season squall jackets?? I'll be packing sweatshirts and long sleeve t shirts. Thanks for the help. I know I'm obsessing. I'm just excited :yay:

Pack things that can be layered. If you have sweatshirts and long sleeve t's you should be fine with light jackets. Either windbreaker or fleece type. We were there in early March last year. It was COLD, but it wasnt typical of that time of year. We dressed in layers. Some evenings we felt like we had on every piece of clothing we brought! LOL You are going later in the month then we did, which will also make a difference.

Just got home late last night. We brought tank tops, shorts, etc. and luckily our heavy fleece jackets which I threw in at the last minute. Most days we wore our jeans (not shorts), sweatshirts, t-shirts (not tanks) and socks with runners (not flip flops). A couple times, I'd wished I'd brought my lighter Helly Hansen jacket.

In addition to these layers, we wore our heavy fleece jackets at night! It was not warm (for reference, we live in BC Canada) and it was about the same temp up here while we were in DL. A couple days last week were warm enough for shorts, tanks, etc during the day, but mornings and evenings were cool.

For the kids: Our kids all wore sweatshirts and fleece jackets layered at night and we brought a warm fleece blanket for the 3 and 4 yolds in strollers. So, if I were you I'd bring the works and also be prepared for a little bit of rain, which wasn't bad with our windbreaker type jackets on.

Happy Planning and feel free to ask any more questions!

Depends on the weather you are used too. I was there in Dec and saw people running around in full winter get-up while I was running around in a T-Shirt and light jacket.

If you are used to cold weather and don't have to wear heavy winter clothes until it gets REALLY cold (I don't wear a winter coat until the temps hit around 40 degrees) then a long sleeve shirt and light jacket will be fine. If you start wearing winter clothes when the temps hit 60 or below you might want to consider a heavier option.

A couple days before you leave check the forecast and pack for those temps.

Twinglemum being from New York you should be fine with a light jacket. I'm such a wimp from the desert that I need heavier stuff even in the summertime. As long as you have sweatshirts and long sleeve t-shirts you should be good.

It could also be very warm so remember to bring regular short sleeved t-shirts if you have the room.

well, its too early to tell... two days ago, it was freeezing, now its just really warm. -_-
