What kind of hat do you wear in the parks? I only have big floppy beach hats that would be highly impractical. My husband doesn't nirmally wear hats but I think he may need one.
Thanks!

DD and I wear kind of large gardening hats; dh wears a canvas hat sort of looks vaguely Australian. We got all of them at Lowe's last summer

DH wears this one

I wear some iteration of this one

I have a "crusher" hat that looks very much like the one above, and in cooler weather I wear a baseball cap.

My family calls my crusher hat my "safari hat" and they tell me I'm only allowed to wear it in Animal Kingdom. But I wear it everywhere as I am very fair-skinned and I would rather look a little silly than get burned.

Edited to add: Here's a link to my hat: http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/mens/mens-accessories/hats-and-caps-for-men/40038.aspx It's great because it keeps the sun off your neck, it's very cool and you can roll it up and stuff it in your pocket while on a ride, then take it out and it pops back into shape. I've had mine for about 5-6 years and it still pops like new. I wear the men's one but they have since come out with a more feminine version. (Come to think of it- maybe my family would like it better if I got the girly one?)

I don't wear a hat...............DH wears a baseball cap

I always wear a hat like this that I got at AK 15 years ago and a collared shirt, no tshirts. This way I can cut down on the sunscreen on my face and neck.

I also wear glasses so when it rains the hat keeps the drops off of them so I can see.

The only type of hat I've worn was more of a sun visor I purchased from a cart in HS. We just typically wear sunglasses but go in cooler seasons.

I also wear a hat similar to this one.... one of them I purchased at AK. Others I have bought elsewhere. I travel with 3 - tan, brown and black. A girl has to color accessorize, right! :lmao:

I too wear one of those crusher/safari hats. So easy to use, you can wash it, fold it when on a ride. Not a hat person but in Florida the sun is just too much for me without a hat.

Get him the one that is sold in the AK or Studios near the Indiana Jones attraction. The top and brim are leather and the rest is a mesh. It is a great hat. Looks great and because of the mesh it is very cool plus since it is leather it can be folded and stuffed into a bag. I get people asking where i got it all of the time. It is a Henschel Hat (yes this is the actual hat Disney sells).

You can order it from online venders or get it at Disney for $49 and change. Exactly what i paid for it 3 years ago...

I wear a straw hat with a 3 to 4 inch brim. I've survived melanoma and keep out of the sun as much as possible.

i can't stand having my head covered, so i sport a visor. i have one of those 3/4 ones that doesn't have a strap in the back. i love that thing!!!

The only park I really need a hat in is EPCOT. DD and I wear visors when we are there. DH wears a straw hat with a brim that we actually got in EPCOT. DS8 has a bucket-style hat while DS16 never leaves the house with a baseball hat on. LOL

Largely depends on the time of year that we are going and the temperature, but generally, I wear something like this:

DH and I both wear Tilley hats. Crushable, you can get them wet, ventilated- and they last for years. Nothing like a brush with skin cancer to keep your head covered and your face and neck shaded.

DH, DFIL, DMIL, and I all wear visors. I have regular baseball caps for the kids (actually, DS1 needs a new one, he got bigger!)

DH & I wear our 10+ year old Tillie hats. We would never dream of not wearing hats. I hate sunburned head. (I got one at the Indy 500 and it was horrible especially a week later when it peeled)

We joke that it's always easy to tell the southerners from the yankees and midwesterners. Folks from the south wear hats and cotton shirts with some kind of sleeves. We know what the sun can do and hate sweating in synthetic clothing. Yankees wear tank tops and no hats and by 5:00 in the afternoon look as pink as a disney princess bedspread.

I have a straw fedora.

My wife has a straw floppy beach hat, not one with a big brim. We got it at the Contemporary Gift shop. I don't know what sort of hat it is, kind of like a bowler, with a little ribbon/bow. I don't know fashion that much, that's why I have a wife.

But you're at Disney, you can wear any kind of hat you want. Heck, get some matching, monogrammed Mickey Ears and go to town.
