What kind of Digital Camera do you have?

Olympus C750 ---- 10x optical zoom (40x digital zoom)---- 4 megapixel ---- movie mode - sound on pics & movies. Takes great pics.

Also and older Olympus D450 zoom.

Thanks for all the responses. You know what the problem is?
There's just too many damn cameras to choose from. :headache: (just kidding;) ) Like I said I have a pretty good idea of what I want.

Thanks again! I knew I could count on all of you for the scoop on cameras.

you need to decide what your primary use of the camera will be. Point and shoot type snapshots? is portability and ease of use important? would you sacrifice # of pixels for portabilty and ease of use? Do you need something that allows you more flexibility and functionality in producting pictures?

Answering those types of questions will help you eliminate many of the options on the market

Yeah thanks, those ARE the right things to consider. We are more of the "ease of use" type. Maybe not strictly point and shoot but not much beyond that.

One of the cameras I'm considering is the Canon Powershot A80.
It can be both point and shoot and manual.
I hear a lot of good things about the Fujifilm cameras too so I'm still not 100% sure yet.

I see lots of people here have some awsome cameras. My budget requires me to keep it around $300 or under.

I'm an Canon ELPH lover!!!! I had the S200 and gave it to my brother last year when I upgraded to the S400. I also bought my parents the S320 for their anniversary.

Nikon D70 with 18-70 lense.

As for recommendations??? I would always suggest Olympus in the lower end line. Them or Fuji. (They share technology)

We have had 4 different Olympus cameras and all have worked flawlessly.

I would also recommend you take a look at www.dpreview.com and www.stevesdigicams.com for in depth professional reviews of the model you are looking at.

We've had this for years and years... it's a great camera, but we find it a little slow... either that or our kids are too darn fast. Thinking of upgrading to the F828.

FIL has that camera...used to be ours! LOL It IS a great one! Flash is faster than our current Sony Cybershot.

We've had a Nikon Coolpix 950 for a couple of years. Just bought a Nikon D70 after much research... it's great! I missed using an SLR.

I second the websites Fred mentioned. Both of them were very helpful to us. ::yes::
