What kind of crowds can we expect mid September?

We've been going in mid-December for so long now, I don't have any idea what other times of the year are like! I know it will still be hot; but that's ok--I live in the deep south and am used to heat!

dmonroe - I'm with you!

We usually go in December also (to get away from the New England cold for a while!) But this year we are honeymooning down in Disney Sept 21 through Oct 2.

I've read that this is the BEST time to visit!

Minimal kids (all back in school), still hot out, some rainy times (monsoon for 20 minutes in the morning and then nothing.) and basically alot of honeymooners. :)

I've heard nothing but good things about going during this time...and, for me, it will be the first time in a while NOT visiting during the Holidays! Finally - laying out at Blizzard beach and NOT having to hear christmas carols! :)

We went last September and the crowds were not bad at all.the only problem we ran into was the rain,it rained every day but no longer than about 30 minutes to an hour, but let me tell you IT POURED during that time.we are going back in September or first of October this year.it was still HOT but not unbearable.:p

Ooooh! I didn't even think about rain! Oh well, I'll just pack the ponchos! I'd rather have daily showers instead of the weeklong downpour we experienced last December!

This will be the first time I've seen WDW without Christmas decorations in almost 15 years. I can't decide if I like that or not;)

We went on the 3rd week of Sept and the weather was perfect. Rained 1 day, but didn't matter. We were on our honeymoon ;) ;)

We had our honeymoon the week after Labor Day 2000, and it was MAGNIFICENT! The only real waits we had, were if we had missed the beginning of a show. We walked right on to most rides, or had a 5-10 minute wait at the absolute worst. We even did Space Mountain twice in a row without waiting at all! This is a super time to go...it doesn't feel deserted (I don't think that ever really happens), but you certainly don't have the crowd issues from mid-summer and holiday time. Temperatures averaged in the 80's and 90's, and rain was very short-lived. You'll have a blast!

It was hot (you gotta love those pools), there were absolutely NO CROWDS anywhere except for MK Fantasy Land. Spectro was a zoo, but that's to be expected. Most E rides were walk-ons or less than 20 minute waits. Epcot felt deserted. We were able to see Illuminations 2x with great views - best ever!

Fantasmic was probably half full one night, 3/4 full the second time we went. We used fastpass a couple times just because we thought it was the thing to do.

We made PS on a day by day basis and had no trouble getting a 7:00 PS for O'hana, 7:00 for Boma, etc.

Be prepared for a daily torrential downpour. There were 3 tropical storms brewing when we were there last Sept. Very damp, but I think it was cooler than our June visit. We were absolutely miserable in June 2000.

We have gone during December and (I know I will get flamed) I think it's strange to see Christmas decorations on palm trees when it's 80 degrees. IMHO. But, early December is a great time to go too - but cooler.

It is HOT in September which is great for the water parks and pools! Probably the worst park for heat and humidity is Animal Kingdom. Because of the thick foilage, there is little air movement and it gets VERY HOT. If you plan to visit AK, go early and leave early.

The crowds are light except for MK on Saturdays. When we went a few years ago, the evening Spectro Magic parade was only held on Saturday evenings. So it seemed everyone in MK that evening. But Sept is a great time to go. We like going in December because of the cooler weather and Christmas decorations.
