We want to try out our chocolate fountain for our NYE party but I can't find the instructions. Does anyone know what kind of chocolate it would take? Also what would be some good things to dip in there? I usually just dip strawberries but those are really expensive this time of year. TIA!

Just any kind of chocolate will work. I prefer hershey's kisses melted, but it is just a personal preferance.

You can do marshmallows, cherries, strawberries, bananas, nuts, you could even serve hot chocolate and have spoons dipped in the fountain to stir with. You could also do angel food cake, cookies.... you can dip pretty much anything.

8 cups of choclolate chips and 1 1/2 cups of vegetable oil.

pretzels, marshmallows, bananas, apples, pineapple, kiwi, oreos

I bought a cheap one from Walmart and used the chips and oil like Amid. It worked GREAT. We also dipped pears, dried apricots and apricots.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember the oil!! My cousin brought hers here for Christmas and we didnt use oil, and the chocolate fountain forgot to flow!! Have fun and enjoy!!

White chocolate is VERY good too!!

I'm pretty sure you have to add the oil like they said or the chocolate turns hard.

We used banana chunks, pineapple chunks, strawberries, angel food cake cubes, sara lee pound cake cubes, small twisted pretzels and I forgot what else. I like chocolate on pretty much anything :flower:

Where I work we add 1/2 a cup of heavy cream and a teaspoon of vanilla extract to every 8oz of semi-sweet chocolate.

some good things to dip are poundcake cubes, strawberries, marshmallows, glaceed apricots (yum!) and banana slices.

I never thought of using cake or oreos! Yum!!! Thanks for all the amazing ideas :)

rice krispies taste really good in the chocolate fountains as well

We used those Wilton candies for molding. Pretzels, bananas, anything will go. It was fun, but what a disgusting mess to clean up. My poor DD4 was so disappointed after a few minutes. She apparently thought the fountain would be installed and that she could walk by it anytime to "take a dip" in it. :rotfl:

I work for a chocoalte company and actually there is special chocolate you can buy that flows nicely in the chocolate machines, Its a thin running chocoalte. You should not have to be adding oil at all...how gross! The place is closed now until Tuesday but I can find out the name of it then.
