I'm planning on renting an ecv for our whole trip and I'm trying to figure out what kind of bag I need to take. I'm thinking a crossbody, but I'm not sure if I need one that can hold the water bottle I need to take. I know I can rent a water bottle holder for some of the ecvs.

These are the two I'm currently looking at.

Thoughts?

You can fit a water bottle plus a lot more in the basket in the front of the scooter. I have used a backpack on the back of the seat too. This last trip I used a crossbody style Vera Bradley bag that kept getting caught on the arms of the scooter seat when I got on and off. It was very frustrating. By the end of the trip I was just using the basket and a small cell phone bag.

Were you not worried about people stealing things out of the basket when you were on rides?

I would take the bag with you on rides I would not leave anything unattended in anything at disney

I've never had anything taken out of a scooter basket, but the kind of things I keep in there are not valuable. Water bottles, ponchos, Chapstick, small bottle of sunscreen, bandanas, a small spray bottle of water and a small hairbrush. I am usually wearing a Magic Band and keep a Disney gift card in my pocket for backup.

I have a lovely dark pinks floral backpack which hangs nicely over the back of the seat. I also managed to find a combination lock with a retractable 1m cable so I can lock it to the seat and also thread it through the zip pulls if I have anything I really don't want stolen. Other than that, I keep everyone's drinks in the basket with a Kipling handbag on top which contains purse, camera, folding cane etc. This bag is a cross-body bag and comes with me whenever I leave the scooter. I have never worried about someone swiping my bag out of the basket: if it's not wedged in I usually pull the shoulder strap forward and hold onto it.

I do NOT wear any sort of cross-body bag while driving as it gets in the way and either sits uncomfortably on my leg or dangles down in front pulling on my shoulder. I suppose if I was really worried I could put it on the floor between my feet (with my foot through the shoulder strap). But this is asking for me to trip over it when I'm getting up!
