What kind of bag do you bring?

Thanks for all the comments!! I am struggling to find the right bag for our upcoming trip. I used to use a backpack, however it was a pain to reach around all the time to grab items. I'm hoping to find a crossbody style for easier access.

Does anyone have recommendations for a LARGER size crossbody? For reference, I keep a big Trader Joe's sport-top water bottle on me, my iPhone 11 w/heavy case (just upgraded from my old iPhone 6 yesterday!!), a Canon G7X vlogging camera, bag of medications/band-aids/etc, big wallet, keys, sunscreen, small healthy snacks, etc.

It would nice to have space for a sweatshirt but I doubt I'll be able to do that with a crossbody, plus our hotel won't be TOO far away (past Candy Cane Inn). The other thing I like about backpacks is stashing away any new purchases, but the convenience of a cross-body and easily grabbing items may outweight this perk.

I usually carry a small crossbody for my phone and wallet so they are super easy to access, then carry a backpack for the larger items (snacks, hoodie, camera, etc). I get irritated having to remove the backpack a million times to get my phone or wallet out, so I like the convenience of a small crossbody for those things. The backpack is a regular backpack, so my DH will trade off with me carrying it, which is nice!

Try the brand Kavu - the bags are cool cause you can bring them around front to open them. When I'm going to the parks at night and don't need to carry as many sweatshirts and what not I like this bag. Going on a ride I just turn it around so the bag is in front without taking it off!

Also for my last trip to WDW I wore my phone on a lanyard! it was so much easier than putting a bag every 5 minutes. I only put it in my bag for the thrill rides.

I’m attracted to the Loungefly backpacks, but I’ve never used a backpack in the parks and worry too about the constant throwing it off a shoulder to swing it around to get to my phone, I take a LOT of pics
Also, are the sequin ones painful to the upper arms/shoulders/armpits?

I have a Loungefly mini-backpack, and they are fantastic for a park day. I don't have the sequined one (I have the castle), but no issues swinging it off a shoulder to get things in and out.

I wear my phone on a lanyard. It seems like it is ALWAYS needed. I only put it in my backpack when I go on a thrill ride.

I use an old Disney lanyard I used for keeping my tickets for fastpasses. This is the case I got to connect it to the lanyard. I used a carabener clip between the case and lanyard so it was easy to detach if needed.

It is pretty heavy to just leave hanging but I found it was in my hand most of the time then on rides it just sat in my lap.

I love my Loungefly backpacks, but I will say that I did scratch my arm with the rose gold one (those sequins are sharp!) and got rid of it shortly thereafter.

Depending on the size of your phone (and the style of backpack) you could always keep it in one of the outer pockets for easier access.

I was always worried about this previously, but it was not a big issue for me, tbh.

One thing I will say is that I LOVE using a lanyard for our tickets now. Why in this world I wasn't doing that before, who knows!

Thank you both for your responses! I ended up ordering a Pacsafe Daysafe Crossbody Bag on sale from HSN. We will see how this works out. It looks large enough, has outer pockets for a water bottle on the side and a cell phone up front for easy access, and it has all these safety features although I'm admittedly not worried about someone slashing the bottom of my purse at DL, hah.

I used to bring a small Dr. Who backpack, and one year I used the AP Minnie backpack (which I now use for my work backpack!). This time around though, I'm using a crossbody similar to the Kavu posted above. It has a phone pouch in the front and a charger port in one of the pouches. Looks like it will hold all our things without causing me hassle to get out my autograph book and sharpie. And it's charcoal grey so DH won't have a problem carting it around for me if need be.

We usually take: reusable park cup, spork, straw. Autograph book and sharpie. Battery for charging phone with cables.

We usually need room for souvenirs we buy all day, maps, other scrapbookable things. I use a locker for the Halloween party though as a safe place for my clothes after I'm changed. We might use a locker if we get a lot of larger souvies or the weather turns warm and we want to drop off sweaters, etc.

I usually put my AP and ID and one gift card into my lanyard pouch. I have also knocked myself back to ONE lanyard with 4 pins on each side. I can then have room to buy more and trade without causing my neck discomfort (used to be two lanyards full of pins). Having the pass and the cards ready to hand makes life easier when getting photos done and such.

I carry a super lightweight day pack backpack from REI that is water resistant. Big kids (11 and 15) each carry their own backpack, water bottle, snacks, jackets and especially EARS! I only carry for myself and my 4 year old and my camera when I bring it. I pack as light as possible, one change of clothes for my little one in case of emergency, wallet, keys, phone and charger, travel size sunscreen, individually wrapped Wet Ones, a small bag of snacks and our water bottles. I make sure I have room to cram jackets in if the morning warranted them, and we wear the lightest, most packable jackets. We never get lockers and just really think twice about what we need to carry.

we either bring a backpack or a drawstring bag. Just depends on what all we need (If we are doing water rides we sometimes bring flip flops or extra bottoms) and what mood we are in. now my husband and/or my son doesn’t ride everything with us. So the only rides we would have issues with a book bag my husband or son takes it. But if it’s going to be a day where we are all riding stuff then the drawstring bag fits on everything.

This weekend I used a disney dooney since I knew I was going to be eating at F&W and didn't want to have to keep putting a backpack on and off.
