What items have you had stolen at WDW?

I have never personally had anything stolen, but I actually saw some people get caught shoplifting in the park one day at MK.

How stupid is that? Pay for a ticket to get in and then shoplift? Did they think that they were sticking it to the man for their ticket prices?

And these people were career shoplifters. (I spoke to the security guard later.) They were wanted all over the place for shoplifting. Why not at least go to DTD where you don't have to pay to get in. I'm not condoning stealing by any means, but that was a real "Here's your sign" moment.

I also wanted to mention one thing while on the "stealing" thread.

I know a lot of things are taken by dishonest people, but there are evil crows at Disney that will steal anything, especially if it is shiny. I have seen a crow fly down and take a shiny pen out of a little girl's hand and then fly up on top of the nearest building and sit on the pen and caw down at her. It was like it was laughing at her in triumph. It was really creepy. :scared1:

So not only for bad people, but remember the bad birds before you leave anything in your stroller. And these seemingly small birds can carry off a whole turkey leg, which I have also seen, and was also creepy. :scared1:

On my grad night trip, right towards the end of the night, about an hour before we were supposed to be back at the busses to go home, my two friends and I stopped at the stand under the Astro Orbiter to get a couple drinks. I had brought my Canon digital camera with me (Old, a semi-small screen. It even had a scratch.) I set it down to pay and accidentally left it there. I remembered it about 10 steps later, and ran back to find it GONE. The two girls who I guess had been standing behind me the whole time told me that a guy had run up and taken it then run off. First thing I did was go to a security guard and let him know it was stolen. A CM from the store nearby came out and gave me a disposable camera, but all my pictures from that night were lost. They were some of my favorite too. :guilty: Now that I think back on it, I'm almost positive those girls who told me about the guy running off were really the ones who stole it, however, at the time I was stressed out about losing my pictures. I spent the whole rest of the night miserably looking for my camera, almost even hoping someone would have just smashed it for fun or something just so I could get my pictures back. :sad1:

The only other thing I can think of that's been stolen while at Disney was about $40. My dad and I were at Blizzard Beach, and were using one of those waterproof containers. Well, while in the wave pool, it floated out of my dad's pocket. We spent a good half an hour searching for it, until the lifeguard said someone had found it. Whoever found it took the $40 in cash that was in it, but luckily left my Dad's credit cards and drivers license.

I was just wondering how security handled the shoplifting incident? I've heard that Disney tries to be very discrete with these things as to not cause a scene or upset the other guests. How did they confront the shoplifter? Did they cuff them or bring them into a back room of the store?

Managed to leave my Nikon Digital SLR in a cab going from AKL to Contemporary last Friday morning... early morning, herding a party of six, fiddling with money to pay for it... reported to Mears, AKL, CR and park/transportation lost & found, but it hasn't turned up so it would appear that it could be considered stolen at this time - more bothered about the pics that were in it than the camera itself, which was due for an upgrade later this year anyway :(

A seagull stole half of my fish and chip lunch lakeside outside Rose & Crown on Sunday... was an impressively precise air strike: took the fish right out of my hand/mouth leaving me with just the batter
