......besides the usual mementos (photos, diaries, heirlooms, etc)

Here's some of mine:

My record player and all my records!! :)

My "old" instamatic Kodak camera.

My sons baby blankets

My phone WITH a cord that is in my bedroom. It IS push button, tho.

I know I have more but I want to see some of yours now!!! :bounce:

a pair of circa 80's parachute pants (reside in the garage with my old leather bomber jacket),

mom's old christmas albums (perry como, nat king cole, burl ives...),

some hoiday ornaments the kids made (they hate seeing them on the tree, i find it comforting somehow),

some old outdate costume jewlery (just opening the drawer brings back a flood of memories).

My teddy bear Aloysius that I've had since I was a baby.

I have a "videodisc" of "The Outsiders" (the player that you had to put the disc in and then halfway thru, put the container the disc came in, in the machine, then flip it over put it back in and then you could watch the rest of it :rotfl2: )

Oh and I forgot, I still have all of my old concert t-shirts, kids baby blankets.

I have my 1st dress my moms friend bought me when I was a baby, my old cabage patch doll, & the 1st cassette tape I ever bought (new kids on the block :rotfl: )

All of my highschool notes from my friends that we passed back and forth in school. I still have notes in the attic from my old boyfriends (I really could get rid of these I just never think about it). Any birthday cards from my Dad. He was so funny, always spent hours looking for the perfect card and customized it just for you! He passed away unexpectedly a couple of years ago and I'm so glad I have his cards. Cards that my kids made/make me. Oh, and I still have my cocker spaniel's ashes, they are sitting in a pretty tin on a shelf in our family room. She was DH's and my first "baby" and she died a couple of years ago.

I still have a few of the stuffed animals from childhood, but the thing that is most precious is my pink baby blanket from when I was a baby. I didn't know if when I was young, but come to find out my aunt gave it to me, and she had a DD who would have been about my age who was either born stillborn or died soon after birth (I don't know the details) who was buried with an identical blanket. Kind of creepy, but it actually gave the blanket even more meaning to me.

My Blankie
Cards/Postcards from my "Mimi" (she has now passed on)
Cabbage Patch Dolls
Stories I used to write when I was younger
Fave Books
Actually, come to think of it I still have most of my entire childhood in the basement... :)

I also have the dress that I wore at my sister's wedding when I was 3yo.

A bathrobe that my grandma gave to me for Christmas when I was a teenager - it was the last gift she gave me before she died. I still wear it!

My first stuffed animal - a pink bear, that has definately seen better days.

You just reminded me that I still have all my 5th grade Valentines plus my 7th grade notes I passed back and forth to my girlfriends. Gosh they're close to 40 years old now!!!

voltron toys
voltron videos
voltron comic books

Many of my "pre-fatty" clothes.

A long coat that my first love painted on. He died, so I've kept that coat with me all these years.

My high school jacket.

I have a bin full of cards (birthday, valentine, halloween, you name it) and some old music magazines I used to collect. I also have a jean jacket with fringes (DD cringes when she sees it, lol).

I have alot of other things too, but those are the majors.

A lot of my mom's stuff. She was a lesson "in moderation", meaning she didn't have a lot of junk. She had everything she needed and some of what she wanted and she didn't collect a lot of stuff. She passed away 9 years ago. If I actually listened to her I would be able to hear her say; "Dawn, why do you want to keep that old thing?" but I sort of see some of her things as "holy relics" so I keep them.

The first stuffed animal i got when i was a baby....has definitely seen better days--that bear went through surgeries and everything with me haha..

Cards that my aunt cathy made for me--she passed away in 1998 and im so glad i have those cards!

:goodvibes That's sweet.

When my mom dies, my sister and I are going to have one heck of a mess on our hands. She's not really a hoarder, but she comes close. She'll start a collection, get several pieces, then move on to something different without getting rid of her old collection. Some of the stuff is actually pretty nice, but it's nothing we'd want to keep except a few things to remember her by.

My old 45 singles & Osmond Brothers albums
