I get that there's trick or treating but where? At the characters or other places?

Are all of the rides open or just some?

I keep reading posts about people wanting to "get" certain characters early. Are these just for photo ops?

My husband really wants to do this but I guess other than the candy, I don't really understand what goes on that is so special that people go 2 and 3 times in one week. Help me understand!!! :)

There is ALOT to do.
Characters are in costume, villians are out for special meet and greets.
The parade is wonderful and fireworks are awesome!
There is time to trick or treat if that is what you want to do.
Most if not all the rides are open. There are a few I think that don't run but it is because of it being nighttime. (Jungle Cruise is one that comes to mind)
It's just a new and different way to see MK. We go twice because we use one night to do rides and characters, the second to trick or treat and see parades/fireworks.
Hope that answered your questions.
Have a magical vacation

If you're happy to see the parade and fireworks, see a character or two, and do a ride or two, then a single night at the party will be fine.

We go twice because it is impossible to do it all in one night. The lines for party specific characters (ones you can't see during regular park hours) get very long. While 5 hours seems like a lot, it's not. It took us 3 trips to the Pirate & Princess party to finally see it all.

Thanks! My kids will mostly be interested in trick or treating and I like the idea of riding some of the rides at night (we always go in Sept when the parks close early!). I'm not too concerned about special characters--all the characters are special to my kids and we have character dining every single day (their first trip!) so we won't be going crazy trying to fit them all in.

I don't let my kids trick or treat at home because I don't like teaching them that it's OK to go to a stranger's house *if* the stranger has candy. So we usually go to our local zoo and they get to trick or treat at the different animal habitats. I think that this will be like THAT on a much, much bigger scale! They will love the Trick or Treat part the best,I am sure!

The other nice thing about doing the rides at MNSSHP is that there is little to no wait to get on the rides, even the busiest ones. The last time we went we walked onto Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan over and over and over again without wait. That's unheard of during the day, even during the least busy times of the year.

I get the stranger danger thing about trick or treating, so yes, this would be similar to what you do on a super fun and magical scale! Don't forget to take time to see the parade and fireworks. The parade is super special. It's definitely our fav of all parades! Have fun! You'll be glad you did it!

I really like the Villains mix and mingle.. I get the song stuck in my head. It's really cool to see the Villians dance. After the show, the characters come down for meet and greets.

My favorite is the parade. The boo to you parade is amazing!

With the shows, parades, special characters, trick or treating, and rides, it's hard to do everything in one night!
