It has been a very long haul but with some testing started, what is your prediction as to when Disney will open Tron in MK?

With Guardians set to open in May, Would they open up another big new attraction in 2022 (say Nov / Dec) or is it more likely they delay into 2023?

Interested in any thoughts and predictions

If I had to guess, October 1, with soft openings in September and the lower crowds. I think they demand has finally come down for Disney travel with the release of that newest Disney+ discount. Its pretty telling that the dates are from post 4th of July to end of September right before things generally get busier again for Halloween. And if people want to come down for that time of year and a new ride, they're going to not find a discount available.

The anniversary is set to continue into spring 2023, but I would wager most of the special features will start to slow down after the 1 year anniversary. I think they'll keep up the mood more through the end of the calendar year and then you'll see a slow phase out of merch and entertainment.

I also think it will be October 1st, but who knows. I figured it would have been long open by now 😅
I'm pretty sure it should have been. You would think Guardians would have been the troublemaker since its a new ride and system. It would have also been a nice bookend to the year to have Oct 1 of '21 to be Remy and of '22 to be Guardians in the park that's currently getting the biggest update.

Leave it to Disney to complicate building a ride they already have.

We just moved trips around last night to get down there to ride Guardians, and that was the comment I made! How is this opening first when Tron is a cut and paste and has been in the works for sooo long 🙃???

I mean to be fair to Guardians, I think that project did start first. If I remember correctly, Energy Adventure closed the same day Movie Ride did, but they ran into MAJOR roadblocks from the start from what I remember hearing because they backed themselves into a corner keeping the original building on that one. Could be they are using the same building philosophy as GE did when building between CA and FL. Get one done, then shift all workers over to the other and finish quick.

I thought I read that Tron is doing test rides now.
I think they are with test dummies, but it still looks like a lot of construction is yet to be finished with the appearance and queue. Probably a lot of landscaping needs to still be worked on too from the last pictures I saw of the site from the people mover. I think the train was also getting ready to reopen from what I saw.

I believe Disney’s fiscal year starts in October. So they could have Guardians open May ‘22, and have that $ going into the ‘22 books, and Tron open in October’22 and have that go on the ‘23 books. (?)

Good analysis. They need anything at all to improve the share price right now.

I think Tron will open come October and have previews take place mid to late September. They must be on track if there's already trains testing.
