What is your opinion on the United Kingdom?

Rye bread
Turkey breast
Lettuce
Box of tomatoes
Bacon
Coffee
Milk

I could live on turkey club sandwiches and coffee for a week if I had to. Wouldn’t be a horrible thing to endure.

OK, I'm totally lost now...
Our best guess is that all the @reecejackox mundane question threads have been, for some unexplained reason, merged together. Every time he starts a new one, the replies soon end up here in this one and it disappears from the CB. So what you read here could be the answer to one of scores of questions posted over the months.

Am I the only one that thinks the CB is lacking, without the fluff threads to entertain us?
:rolleyes1I think it's lacking without most of the non-fluff threads that have been closed lately. And I hope, every time I log on, to see some interesting new threads that aren't random questions or song-lyric related. I start one every time I have what I think will be good topic fodder. The CB really isn't what it used to be though.

Those threads have no doubt been closed, due to people reporting every post they don't agree with. I'll never understand why people do that, but it's obvious that it's happening in the Harry & Meghan & Covid threads. I don't really blame the mods for getting tired of adults acting like elementary school kids tattling on each other. At least, the fluff threads don't/didn't fall within the banned topics. I ignore some & rarely post on the others. I do enjoy reading them, when I'm bored. Hopefully, the members who have a problem with those threads will start posting threads for us to read. I have a boring life & need my CB entertainment. :o

As far as the CB not being what it used to be, it was really bad, before they cut down on political posts. Politics can definitely bring out the worst in people. I do agree that it isn't as active as it used to be.

I must confess it's easier for those of us who aren't American to stay out of the fray. I always knew better than to interfere in any threads that veered towards the elections, gun violence, health insurance or racism. :hippie:

Funny how they go that way though, down some rather circuitous routes. Like the current tipping thread that's become more about rates of pay/living wages/minimum wages. In the good old days, tipping threads were just about whether or not one was a cheapskate.

A while ago, someone tried to start a mundane question thread. That didn't help. I presume he/she complained, and probably others, about all the mundane threads as they started to take over the CB.
My guess is the mods didn't tell the OP that the new policy is mundane threads can only stay open for a few hours / a day before getting merged. Or the OP doesn't care, as he/she doesn't come back to threads.

I am now developing a theory on that the OP is a researcher, or more presumably a college student, with some kind of assignment in gathering data on mundane questions.

Shall I leave this here? And to bring up the mundane question: Does anyone here ever had a porridge related incident?

As I mentioned to someone else, everything is politics. Mundane questions and song lyrics are all we have left.
But we'd better not discuss DIS policies either. That's the most politics of politics.
I actually answered that in one of the mundane question threads which was about what do you not like about the DIS (or something similar). :D Maybe they are useful? ;-)
