What is your not so normal item to pack, which is helpful while at WDW ?

Where do you find these pocket chargers. I'm thinking it would be a good idea as I plan to use MDE app on my phone along with uploading pictures to Facebook, etc...my husband and brother would probably benefit from it also.

I use this one from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AA6CS86
I initially bought their larger one, but it was overkill for us. We try to make a point not to be on our phones in the park. This one will fully recharge an iPhone 4S from ~20% and still have some left to top up a second phone.

I got a portable phone charger for my iphone 4s on ebay for $6. You plug it into the wall and let it charge and then when you are in the parks you can charge your phone on the go! I'm sure the one I have isn't the best quality but I have tried it out and it works great. I only bought it for this trip and won't be worried if I lose it. :goodvibes

I just bring a spare battery with me. I use Galaxy SIII. The downfall of iphones are no spare batteries.

The charger I got at Hallmark ($39) is small enough to be used as an auxiliary battery on the go. I have never run out of juice mid call so have only used it to recharge. It charges very quickly. It is very solidly made and has indicator lights to keep you apprized of its status.

We always rent a car while at WDW and I bring one of those fold-out sunshades for on the windshield. The vehicles get very hot sitting in a blistering parking lot all day and the sunshade helps to keep the sun from baking the interior so badly--especially the steering wheel!

The recipe I use is 2 cups water, 2/3 cups Downy, and 1/3 cup rubbing alcohol. However, I actually use a little less than 2/3 cups Downy.

Thank you for this recipe. I always keep this on hand and I travel with it all the time. Will be much cheaper to make my own! Thanks.

I am starting to make up my packing list now, so I am reading through this thread. Always interesting to see what every one packs. I am a very light packer, try to be anyway. Only a carry on for me. :)

Awesome idea! I dug mine out to pack with us!

You can actually leave out the rubbing alcohol and it will still work just as well. The alcohol is so that the water/softener don't go bad....but if you make a small amount (my recipe is 1 cup DISTILLED water and 1 tablespoon of softener) then you shouldn't have to worry. Water/softener left too long will get clumpy (but it takes 6-8 months for mine to get that way). I always worried that rubbing alcohol would damage my clothing so I didn't want to use it, plus the smell is nasty (though it does go away pretty quickly).

Try both and see which one works best for you.

Excellent, thanks. I bet the addition of alcohol also makes it evaporate a little faster on the clothing, maybe? I will have to get distilled water next time I am in the store. I will mix up a little of both and see.

A girl after my own heart!! :rotfl: I thought I was the only one who brought all of these "crunchy" things!! :)

You're not the only one!!! Everyone should always look for alternatives to drugs! Especially when Mother Nature has given us so much to help us stay healthy!

Speaking of all that. Does anyone know of some good dried Veggies or such, that travel well and actually have nutritional value? Usually halfway through any giving vacation, I start needing intense amounts of things like Spinach.

Is it possible for you to dehydrate your own spinach to take along? I have never dehydrated spinach, but I've made swiss chard chips and dehydrated swiss chard many times. It's very easy, if you have a dehydrator. If you don't have a dehydrator or cannot borrow one, I understand if you live in a dry climate, it is easy to do it in the sunshine.

Make some kale chips! Experiment beforehand, and know they must be carried in a rigid-side container, but they are a favorite snack of mine. I prefer them with just olive oil, salt, and pepper, roasted for 30 minutes or until crispy but not browned, at 225-250 degrees. But recently I had some that were made by putting the pan in a hot 450 degree oven, then turning off and leaving them for 45 minutes or until crispy. A friend of mine adrs ranch seasoning to hers, or taco spices, or even cocao!
