Do you know it? Do you think it's an accurate description of you? Do you like to try to type people you meet and/or have your friends take the test? Do you know the types of most of your friends? Do you dislike anything about particular types?

There are 16 MBTI types. Each type is 4 letters, with 2 possibilities for each letter. For example:

I am an ENFP(The Inspirer). The exact opposite of me would be an ISTJ. And there's all the types in between! I think my type is extremely accurate of who I am.

Extroversion(E) or Introversion(I): How you focus your attention/get your energy.
Sensing(S) or iNtuition(N): How your take in information.
Thinking(T) or Feeling(F): How you prefer to make decisions.
Judgment(J) or Perception(P): How you orient yourself to the external world.

The Tests:

Are all yes/no questions. You only need to take one -- I recommend the first one listed.

This one is more difficult to take but shorter and much more accurate. When you are finished with the test, you must scroll down and look at the 4 bars. If the mark is closer to Extroversion you are extraverted, closer to Introversion you are an I, and so on with each bar. : http://www.41q.com/

This one is easier to take, but longer and less accurate: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

Interpreting The Results: You and Your Friend's Types

First, you'll want to google your type's portrait (if you're an ENFP, type "ENFP portrait" into google and you should click on the first couple results).

Share what you and your friend's types are and what you think of typing! I'll share more about my friends' types and my opinions on MBTI in a later post... this wall of text here is probably daunting.

tl;dr: Type yourself, type your friends. Also, typing is an awesome way to understand people and their differences/why they act the way they do.

I took the first one for myself and this is what I got:

Your personality type: "Reliable Realist"

Serious and quiet, interested in security and peaceful living. Extremely thorough, responsible and dependable. Well-developed powers of concentration. Usually interested in supporting and promoting traditions and establishments. Well-organized and hard working, they work steadily towards identified goals. They can usually accomplish any task once they have set their mind to it.

When it comes to working on stuff, this is actually a lot more accurate than you'd think XD I almost never speak in real life, I'm too busy trying to get things done.

When you take the first one, they give you the summary of your personality but to find your MBTI type you have to scroll down on the results page and look at the 4 bars (Extroversion/Introversion, Sensing/iNtuition, etc.)

The other summary the first test gives you is basically useless since most of the type information you can discover comes from knowing your MBTI (the 4-letter type).

Even though, I'm pretty sure from the small summary you got, you're an XSXJ (the x's are either I/E or T/F).

I'm a ENFP (Spontaneous Idealist)

Enthusiastic, idealistic and creative. Able to do almost anything that interests them. Great people skills. Need to live life in accordance with their inner values. Excited by new ideas, but bored with details. Open-minded and flexible, with a broad range of interests and abilities.

I googled it, and it describes me right down to every detail. :)

Your personality type: "Engaged Idealist"
Popular and sensitive, with outstanding people skills. Externally focused, with real concern for how others think and feel. Usually dislike being alone. They see everything from the human angle and dislike impersonal analysis. Very effective at managing people issues and leading group discussions. Interested in serving others and probably place the needs of others over their own needs.

Your personality type: "Harmony-seeking Idealist" (INFJ)
Quietly forceful, original and sensitive. Tend to stick to things until they are done. Extremely intuitive about people and concerned for their feelings. Well-developed value systems which they strictly adhere to. Well-respected for their perserverence in doing the right thing. Likely to be individualistic, rather than leading or following.

Wow, this is me pretty much to a T.

The job all three of my INTJ friends would be most suited for is the "evil mastermind" position. Would that interest you at all? =P

Edit: Also, looking at this thread is a good example of the fact that ISTJs are the most common type, standing at 12-16% of the population.
