What is your max wait time?

What is the longest you're willing to wait to go on a ride?

I saw a question like this in the Disney section and it made me want to post the question in here out of curiosity to see the kind of wait times people would be willing to wait out on average at Universal and maybe what kind of wait times people would be willing to do for something they'd really want to go on!

We go at slow times. For rides that don't take EP, if the wait is 40 minutes or more we'll move on.

I like to stay on site so this isn't a problem. For the HP stuff I usually will reconsider or pass by and come back if it's more than 45 minutes.

Now... when HP first opened I would consider anything up to 120minutes. However, now that I've been there done that I am only willing to do less than an hour as I go more often and I know the times of the day that wait times go down.

Disney is a totally different story. UGH.

Not long at all. We always have EP so not an issue really.

New rides while great to do, won't stand an hour for it, will wait till next time.........

for the parks, i'll wait until i get on the ride.
i always stay onsite so i don't have issues with long waits for rides or shows.

most of the time i am there solo so i have nothing else to do but wait if that happens.

using the ep lines, waits can run from nothing to 20 minutes.
i have no complaints on that.

but waiting when a ride is shut down and you have not heard any announcements( that is why the hold up for no moving line), i don't stick around.
i leave the line once it is reported.

i have waited in the regular lines when i meet up with locals that do not have the ep.
easier to pass time waiting for how ever long it is then when you are catching up with friends.

The more experienced (i.e. older) I get the less I'm willing to wait. I think 30 minutes is our max time for repeat rides. We will wait longer if it is the first time we've ridden the ride.

We usually go in the off-season, making 15 minutes the most we will wait whether with or without EP. However, our next trip will be during moderate crowds instead of low and we don't have EP so I expect we'll wait for up for 30 minutes for certain rides.

We are always onsite and if I have to wait more than 10-15 I'm not doing it.

I'm with the majority here...about 45 mins. We also stay on site, and go in spring...rides like Forbidden Journey and Gringotts do get long, but if it's more than 45 mins, we come back later.

The longest I have waited was 120 minutes and that was for Forbidden Journey the summer it opened. Normally, I would not wait more than 30 minutes.

To me it depends on the ride. And if I didn't have Express Passes, this would be my limit for each ride (just based on preference of rides)

Forbidden Journey - 45 min.
Gringott's, Spiderman, Transformers, Hulk, Minion Mayhem - 30 min
Simpsons, Jurassic Park River Adv, Mummy, Rip Ride Rockit - 20 min
Everything else - 15 min

Lol it went to 45 minutes after I saw the original 255! We were sure it was just a glitch with the app timing.

I try my darnedest to have EPs, and we do single rider for the two big HP rides, so waits at Universal haven't been a big deal for us other than one time.

Let me take you back to December 23, 2010. That day was so busy that you had to get a return time to get into Hogsmeade, and even with the return time, we waited 45 minutes to get into the land then 90 minutes to ride Forbidden Journey. (I kept really good notes - I should go back to doing that.) We were able to ride it several more times in the evening after the crowds died down a little. Despite the lines, this was one of the best days ever. It was also our most tiring day ever. The park opened early and closed late, and we stayed the whole time.

Whether a glitch, or not, I would never wait 225 minutes for a ride, but I'm sure plenty of people would. I think even if I didn't have my annual, I still would pass on such a wait time. Even in the earlier days of when WWoHP came out (as a major Harry Potter nerd), the most I've waited for a ride was 90 minutes, and I honestly think that will have to be the max.

I would only wait for such a wait time again unless it was a new ride I desperately wanted to go on and didn't have my annual pass. Even then I would probably wait the whole day until the last minute just to see if the wait time would go down, and then go on the ride.

Since almost all my favorite rides are single riders and since I go by myself (now that I'm older), or go with my father, typically I'll just do the single rider lines and anything I want to go on that isn't single rider line I go on in the early morning before the wait times get higher. If things get too high, I can get it later in the day, or next time.

However, I would have to say if I had to go with more than one person and we had to do everything together, I'd probably be willing to wait 30 minutes, or less. 45 minutes for Harry Potter based attractions. Anything else I'd be like "peace guys, I'll meet up with you guys after the ride".

Honestly, for the most part I wouldn't wait more than 10 mins for anything.

We always stay onsite at UO so all the rides with EP are usually walk-on. We have waited 20-30 mins for the HP rides, but that is the limit.

As others have said, a lot of it depends on the ride. The first time riding a new headliner I'd probably go up to 90 minutes. For rides I've ridden many times 20-30 minutes tops.
