What is your greeting when you answer your cell phone?

Seductively, "Hey baby! What are you wearing?"

I only have a tracfone and my wife is the only one who has the number.

Or in reality, since I only have a few minutes left yet the time is over a year left, I just now turn it off, then call her back on the office phone at work.

If she calls me on my cell phone when I'm home, I just yell to the other room, "Why are you calling my cell phone?" since she would call the home phone if she was at work and I was home with the kids.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Work phone outside call: "It's a great day at _____ ______ this is ______ how can I help you?"

Jenni? Is that you? :lmao:

If it's a local number that I don't recognize, I assume it's someone who has my number for a reason (doctor's office, etc.) because I don't give it out to just anyone. I answer those with "This is Tracy." If I know the caller, I answer with "hello".

i use my cell phone for my business. if it's a client or a number i don't know, i say "hello, this is emily." if it's a personal call, just hey or hi. if it's my mom (she has a Captain Jack ringtone), i say " 'ello, love."

Usually "hello." If it's my sister or a certain friend, it's "Hey, b****!" (Yes, I have a weird family). I don't answer calls I don't recognize, but sometimes if I'm feeling particularly loopy, I'll answer with "Domino's!" or "Happy Harry's Wh*rehouse, how may we service you?" I also use that last one with my sister and my friend on occasion... :lmao:

During my duty hours i answer-Ft Carson Battle command training-this is Mrs............ How may i help you sir or ma'm. Because i have to forward my duty phone to my cell thats required. off hours of if caller ID tells me who is calling-i say hello-or hi babe-depending on who the caller is.

I only answer "hello" However most people I know who receive work calls on their cell phone answer "Hello, this is So and So."

Personally I HATE when people answer a phone that is for work with only a "hello". How do I know if I called ABC Plumbing or whoever it is I'm trying to call. It should be Business Name , this is So and So.

One of my pet peeves.

I always answer with the standard "hello?" unless I know who is calling (every one of my best friends and family has their own ringtone). Then, it's usually, "hey!".

My mom always answers her phone at home with a time appropriate, "Good morning/afternoon/evening- this is Mary".

My cube neighbor always answers her personal cell phone, "Hi this is so and so" if the person calling comes up as a blocked number or if she doesn't recongnize the number and not just with a hello. I find it a little strange. Is it just me?? I could see if it was her work phone since it would be more professional to answer that way.

.

If someone other than family calls my DH he answers by saying "This is John". The girls make fun of him for answering that way :rotfl:, but I don't really see it as weird.

It doesn't seem so strange to me. I just answer "hello", but my husband usually answers his phone, "Hello, this is Todd". Your coworker might think it is weird that you don't ever answer the phone if the caller ID doesn't say who it is.

Now the loud ringtone? Annoying.

That annoys me, too. When I am calling a business, it makes me think maybe I've called a wrong number if they just say "hello". It's kind of like how I wonder if a business has hung up on me if they put me on hold and all I hear is silence :confused3.

I say Hello to Dh and the kids, and Hey to friends. :lmao: If its a number I don't recognize I don't answer it either.

I just say hello when I answer my phone, if I don't know who it is, I don't answer, and if I'm answering my phone at work, I answer, good evening, this is __________, how may I help you.

I also answer calls I don't recognize as "this is Andrea", and don't think it's strange at all. I list a lot of crap on Craigslist so I definitely answer calls when I have an active listing because I don't want to miss a potential sale. I don't answer at all if they are 1-800 numbers or obviously out of the area, but if the numbers are in my area code I usually answer. It could also be my Dr. or Dentist's office...yes I have their primary number programed in, but just like at my work, they have numerous lines so you can never tell which one they'll call from. We disconnected our land line a few years ago, so all those types of calls go to my cell.
