What is your grandparent "name"?

I became a grandma for the first time at 35 and had my last child at 37. My grandkids call me grandma.

I'm 42 and will be celebrating my grandson's 2nd birthday this June in Kidani Village.

I married very young. I have friends with children in preschool. Mine are 22 ( and also married ) and 15.

When my eldest asked what I wanted my GS to call her, I said, "How about Aunt Tammy?" :lmao:

I ended up as Yaya, and my husband is Pops.

It's really still strange thinking of myself as a grandmother. But, we're still way young enough to do a lot of Disney trips, Hawaii trips, Hilton Head trips...well just a bunch of trips! And, when I'm done, I don't have to bring him back to my villa and I can just go to sleep. :thumbsup2

Ok, I'm not a grandma yet but I'm dreaming of the day and I think I'd like to be called Granna. Unless i hear of something I like better before my dd decides to have children.

I'm Nanny & DH is Papa- although I've noticed that
my oldest DGD has started calling me Nana on
occasion. I'll pretty much answer to anything :goodvibes

My Mom is Granny and my Dad is Grandpa:lovestruc

My In-laws are Gramma and Granpa:goodvibes

I called mine Grandma and Nanny and Poppa:thumbsup2

My parents were Grandma and Grandpa (last name) and my in-laws were Gammy and Gampy (last name).

When the time comes Im sure it wont matter what I want. Either my daughter or so will choose what they are going to teach the kids to call me or the grands will pick there own.

My grandma wanted to be Grandma. Everyone called her Maggie. I started calling her Grandma Maggie and the rest of the kids followed suit. Though now I call her Gram or Gma ( Gee Ma) a lot.

I am "Gran" to 3. The oldest is 15 now, but lived in England when he was 2-5. Whenever I went to see him, he pronounced "Gran" in the most beautiful English accent.

Now "Gran" has a flat Southern accent, and certainly sounds different.

I called my grandparents Grandma and Grandpa. My kids call my parents Grandma and Grandpa. DH's father was Grandpa, and his mom is Grandma. However, when talking ABOUT DH's parents, they are Grandma (last name) and Grandpa (last name).

We have one DGS, who will be 3 in April. I wanted to be called Grandma and just assumed DH would be grandpa. But when DGS was was just learning to talk, we started being Mawmaw and Pawpaw. I must have still referred to myself as Grandma though, because he suddenly started calling me that. However, DH is still Pawpaw. We will most likely continue to be Grandma and Pawpaw for any future DGC. DGS calls my DD TiTi, since that was much easier to learn than Aunt Katelyn!:)

I'm not a grandparent yet, but DS calls one set Mema & Poppa, and the other Grandpa & Nana. (And we refer to my mom, who died before he was born, as Grandma Firstname.) He has known two great-grandmothers, one called Mema Firstname, and the other simply Gram.

My own grandmothers were Grandma Lastname and Grandma (cutsie form of last name). I didn't get to know my grandfathers, so my great-grandfather was just Grandpa.

We were told to call my grandma, "Grandmother". I am Mema and my dh is Granddaddy.

I think my mother is called something different by every set of grandkids. She wanted to be grandma, which my son, oldest niece, and oldest nephew managed quite nicely. Then came my daughters lol. One of them came out with Gabby and it stuck. My sister's daughter calls her Mimi, and her other grandmother is Little Mimi. One brother's kids call her G-G, and I think the rest of the family uses Grandma. My MIL was either Grandma or MeeMaw, depending on the kid's ages.

My grandparents were Oma and Grandpop on one side, Grandma and Grandpa on the other.

I had my first dgrdd at 38. She turns 18 yrs old this year. Boy time flies. All my grandkids call me Grandme and my dh Peepaw. Peepaw was what our oldest dgrdd called my dh as soon as she could. It stuck and he loves it. We have 5 now and we love it when the are here. My own kids are all now in their 30's but I think we are done having grandkids so I really spend time a lot of time on them.

My dgd is going to be 3 on Valentines day. She was a surprise, but a very good one. Anyway, I was going to be Grammie but she calls me Mom and her mother mommy. If her mommy answers to Mom she will tell her I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to my Mom. My dh is grampy.
She calls my exh Vovo. She calls my mom Grams and my dad Papa.
On the other side she has a gmom, granmom, and big gram

I call my paternal grandparents Grandma and Grandpa. My maternal grandparents were Grandma and Bumpa. (I'm not actually sure how "Bumpa" came to be... I think I couldn't pronounce "Grandpa" at the time and it just stuck.)

From the time I was about 10 I called my mother Mama (I picked it up from watching Pride and Prejudice - so it's the English style of saying it). My mother insisted she was not going to be a "Grandma", and instead her grandchildren could call her "Goddess." She said it sounded better. :rotfl:

My grandchildren call me Gia and my husband is Poppy. My oldest granddaughter could only say G and it evolved into Gia.

We have a new baby granddaughter who turn 6 months old on Valentine's day.
She's not calling us anything yet, but "M'lord" and M'lady" will suffice;)
