what is your go to lens for Disney?

I'm looking to add to my lenses and I was wondering what everyone considers their lens of choice in Disney.

My walk around lens is the 18-105mm. I have the Tokina 11-16 for wide shots and landscapes.

For my upcoming trip I am renting a 10.5 fish eye just to have fun. One thing to consider is renting a lens before you buy it so you can give it a work out and see if it works well within your creative profile.

Good Luck,

Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 on one of our bodies, Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 on the other.

Tamron 18-270. I also carry a Canon 10-22 and when needed, a Canon 100-400 (AK, Fantasmic).

Most used lens: 50 1.4 (that's like a 35mm field-of-view on crop sensor, though).

Theoretically my walk-around lens is a 28-300 variable aperature... but that 50mm actually gets used more.

I have a 50mm 1.4 and I would love a 70-200 2.8 but realistically I'm not going to carry it around the parks with my kids in tow, so I'm thinking maybe a 24-70 2.8.

Tamron 17-50 on camera most of the time with a 70-200 f4, fisheye, and a 50mm 1.8 stored nearby. I found 24 just never wide enough for me.

I don't really think of any one lens as my "go to" lens at WDW. I'd say that as a general rule, my 70-200 is the lens I enjoy using the most. Here are the stats from our last trip. We took 2,421 shots with an APS-C camera (Canon 7D) and 4,747 with a full frame camera (Canon 5D Mark II).

W/ APS-C camera
0% - 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye
15% - 17-40mm f/4
18% - 24-105mm f/4
17% - 24mm f/1.4
48% - 70-200mm f/2.8
0% - 135mm f/2
1% - 300mm f/2.8

With FF camera
1% - 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye
3% - 17-40mm f/4
4% - 24-105mm f/4
34% - 24mm f/1.4
22% - 70-200mm f/2.8
11% - 135mm f/2
25% - 300mm f/2.8

Combined Usage
1% - 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye
7% - 17-40mm f/4
9% - 24-105mm f/4
29% - 24mm f/1.4
31% - 70-200mm f/2.8
7% - 135mm f/2
17% - 300mm f/2.8

Typically it's a Tamron 28-75. I did however rent a Canon 10-22, can't wait to play around with it. We leave in the morning :cool1:

Great question, and exactly why I found this site! I only have a 50 and a 28, on a crop, and can't decide which to bring.

I would bring every lens that you might want to use on your trip. Then just pick the ones you are willing to carry each day. You may want wider lenses one day, longer lenses the next, and then faster lenses the day after that.

Depends on time of day and which park. During the day, I mostly use my 18-55, but at Animal Kingdom, I use my 50-200. At night, I mostly use 35mm 1.8. I have all with me just in case.
