I've always loved The Haunted Mansion. I just love the way the mansion looks on the outside and then of course going in and getting on the elevator. Pirates of the Carribean is a very close second. Looking forward to our trip this year :woohoo:

I voted Space Mountain.

I have very special moments from that ride.

It was a favorite before the redo. Then I won tickets for a special after hours party to re-open Space Mountain with The All American Rejects. My friend and I rode it that night and everyone on the train was clapping and screaming when it was over. I rode it as "Rockit Mountain" and loved hearing Uncle Joe Benson start the ride off. My dad built and installed the little doors that open and close right before you step onto the coaster. I remember when my daughter was tall enough for the ride, she had an absolute blast and said "lets do it again!"

If you asked my daughter SM is one of her favorites, but Big Thunder is her must ride everytime.

My favorite has to be Pirates. I've loved it ever since I was a kid! I've taken my kids on it practically since birth- even used to nurse my DS on it!:lmao: No mystery why he likes pirates!!

And now that it has Captain Jack, it's even better than ever!

Space Mountain would be the fave if they would BRING BACK THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS SONG!! Ack! That was the bomb!:cool2:

I would say it is a tie between Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain, followed by Pirates. I absolutely LOATHE Space Mountain and after going on it and having a serious panic attack (I hate how it was dark, but just light enough that I thought my head would get chopped off by a track above me), I will never go on it again. Ever. Seriously, it ruined me for the rest of the trip. I was basically in tears and burrowed into dh's arm by the end of it. But the others I love!

I'm not able to pick my favorite in DL because I love several of them but the top ones on my list are
DL: Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, It's a Small World & Peter Pan
DCA: California Screamin', Tower of Terror & Soarin' Over California

Hubby's pick:
DL: Matterhorn
DCA: California Screamin'

DD 10:
DL: Space Mountain :worship:
DCA: California Screamin' & Tower of Terror :woohoo:

DD 8:
DL: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Poor
DCA: California Screamin' & Tower of Terror :woohoo:

My daughters added the smilies.

I voted for POTC...I just love that ride. It has everything I need....a few thrills, air conditioning, Capt. Jack....:rolleyes1

Is the OP (of a thread) able to edit the title (of the thread)?

Matterhorn & HM.

(& Alice & Pinocchio)

Tough question! I love BTMRR because my kids always laugh when they ride it. Pirates is great because there is so much to take in. It's a toss up between the two for me. I also LOVE Haunted Mansion!

I love Indy SOOO much. The only thing I have to complain about is: Theye didnt get harrison Ford to do the voice. Otherwise, it is nearly perfect IMO.

Between Space Mt. & Splash Mt. its a toss up. But they're my #2 & #3.

I love the haunted mansion. But I look at it as if it were in two parts. Part A: Is all the pre ghost stuff. Where they hint that there are ghosts but you never see any. Part B: Is where all the ghosts come out and you can see them. Personally I prefer Part A. I love the anticipation of the Ghost, but for some reason I dont really care for Part B. Its cool and all, but part A is where I get my kick!

Pirates is awesome. Im one of the fans who prefers the original over the (stupid) Jack Sparrow version. But I still love it regardless.

Now I like the matterhorn, but its just not intense enough for me. Im one of those dudes who LOVES Expedition Everest. So every time I think of matterhorn, I always click over to Expedition Everest. Comparing the two, I think matterhorn is lacking. But it has its perks. I wish they'd do a refurb on it and make it more like Expedition Everest. (Which IMO is the best ride at WDW).

Thunder Mountain is a classic. I love it. But i think the paris version is the best.

Star Tours is fantastic! Every time we jump to light speed I get goosebumps!

Everything else is great aswell.

I look at it like this, in two categories; Walt era (historic) and post-Walt (contemporary).

The stuff I find the most interesting are the historic things that have been icons for generations of Disneyland lovers. My favorites are:

Disneyland RailRoad, Mark Twain and Columbia, Main Street vehicles, Pirates, Mr. Toad, Matterhorn, Monorail and Jungle Cruise.

The stuff I find the most thrilling and immersed in are the post-Walt stuff that has been done with the might of the WDC empire behind it, which is something so massive that Walt himself could not have imagined it! My favorites are:

Haunted... only the best theme / effects ride EVER!
Big Thunder, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Indiana Jones just make DL so thrilling and fun for all ages... even thirty-something kids like me!

You know what I love the most? That smell in the show buildings and on the coasters... It is like a mix of gear oil, dust and Disney magic! I can't explain it more than that but I've loved that gear lube, dusty Disney smell my whole life!

Buzz lightyears. I either come out of that ride really really happy or really really mad :D :thumbsup2

Yes, it is very powerful in Pirates!

LOL here I thought I was the only crazy one that loved that smell. Ok maybe it's not the smell.......but it's just Disney to me all over again. I remember walking in last year and just taking a deep breath..........ohhhhhhhh I was at DL and it was wonderful!

I had to vote for Haunted Mansion because its where DH and I got engaged there over 50th anniversary weekend... Actually on the ride in front of the ballroom scene. He's sooo wonderful!  :lovestruc :lovestruc

AHHH! How could I forget!? The Jungle Cruise is a classic. Rideing it makes me feel so adventureous. Personally I like to ride it before going on Indy. By doing this, I can pretend that Im hitching a ride deep into the Jungle. Then mesh it with the Indy queue, and pretend that I've rode into the Jungle and then: "We walk from here"... (get in line to Indy) and find the temple. Its silly, I know. But its fun! :cool1: And it's like one big adventure from two different rides.:thumbsup2

I love how you think! I do that too! It works best at night when it is kinda fun to do the Jungle Cruise and Indy anyways. I also do the same thing with Pirates and The Blue Bayou and then sfter dinner go over to the Mansion as if you took the boat ride through the pirate caverns and came ashore in New Orleans Square for dinner and a walk to an old neighborhood Haunted Mansion! Again, night time is best for this too!

Oh and funny you mention the Jungle Cruise being the ride into the jungle to the Forbidden Eye temple as the WDC entertained the idea of making the JC the way to get to Indy to make it even more adventurous and remote seeming but they in the end decided against it because they didn't want to completely change the nature of the historic JC.
