Hmm, as far as nostalgia goes, hands down Captain Jacks. That's like a family shrine that place, so many memories there.

I have never had clam chowder like they have there. It's legend in my family, every clam chowder gets compared to it. They also have bartenders that have been working there since my parents used to drink there when "I" was a kid.

We've tried to get the recipe from a couple of the bartenders, but they told us that they're not even able to get it, and they've been trying for years. It's also why I can never freaking find it in any Disney cookbook, the first thing I ever look for is Captain Jacks clam chowder.

Ask my wife or mom about having a strawberry margarita at Captain Jacks and they'll be your best friend forever

Cape May - Never eaten there

Biergarten - Sooooooooo good. I'll never forget when they asked me if I wanted a regular beer or the "big" beer, and I said big. Right afterwards my wife and mother-in-law saw the "big" beers at a nearby table, and were like "Oh man, looks like Chris is starting early"....lol

Chef Mickeys - Been a while, but it wasn't that bad last time

California Grill - The BEST meal I have ever had at Disney, amazing view, amazing food, this is a must do for anyone

Coral Reef - A favorite when I was younger, but the last couple times I went it was so bad I just don't think I can go back

Liberty Tree - Always good

Boma at Breakfast - Only have been here once for breakfast, but it was so good it seared into my mind. Can't wait to get back one day

Fultons - Much like Captain Jacks, this is a place we've been visiting since I was a kid. I can remember back when it was the Empress Lily (before it changed names), I was like 9 years old and they had this smoky jazz club right in the middle of it on the bottom floor. I can remember being there with my parents. Have always loved this restaurants, went a couple years ago, food was great as always, amazing views.

All this talk and you have probably talked us into adding the dining plan to our ressies this October. We were planning on a camping trip only with only a ticket to MNSSHP, but thinking twice now.

There are a lot of pro's and con's bout gett'n the dine plan depending on who you talk to. For us , we like the dine plan, when we can afford it. But you have to think or plan on where to eat in order to get your monies worth. If your a straight up sweet roll for breakfast n burger for supper,,you'll loose.But if you enjoy good foods, different foods , and trying things you may not have had,,GO FOR IT. Thats mho...Mr.

We did have the DP this past December and we did enjoy it. I planned our trip out, based on EMH and then looked at dining choices and made reservations. With a family of 7 it worked for us. It's so expensive to do all the character meals so it was nice to be able to include them. The first trip we took the kids, my oldest DD was 4 and the quads were 2. We were only at MK for 1 day and it was glorious! Brought PB&J in the cooler for them along with snacks and planned on a CS for later. Well $63 for a hotdog meal was a bit much, and none of them finished their hotdog. Should have known better, but.... The dinimg plan paid for itself with each table service for us. It's just that I wanted a more relaxing trip this time, but I feel myself getting all sucked up into going to the parks again. We were going to do Sea World, I guess we haven't decided yet. I feel a family vote coming...

Now that I think about it, some of our favorites are more for the memories more than the quality of food. That's not right with the cost of WDW food is it?

Favorites...

Trails End - the first time we ate there, it was the night before we were leaving WDW. The kids were told to color their placemats and they would be displayed. A week after we got home, the kids received the placemats in the mail with autographs from all the characters and waitstaff with neat little notes. Seems silly but it was a great post trip surprise and of course a FW "memory".

Chef Micky is a tradition, a major tradition for both families (we travel with another family).

We did Cinderella Breakfast twice...once when you could easily make reservations and once when I had to go underground and have a vet in New York make reservations. No one is interested now. I'll have to wait for grandkids.

Crystal Palace - A meal with Tigger is still a tradition.

Cosmic Ray's - Has become a fireworks tradition to get a burger and sit on the bridge from Tomorrowland to the castle.

Pecos Bill - wraps

MGM

50's Prime Time Cafe - first time last trip, will be a repeater. Great food, great waitress and great atmosphere...until a thunderstorm brought hords of people inside.

Sci Fi - dessert tradition for late afternoon when at the studios.

EPCOT
Electric Umbrella - mainly for unlimited drink refills

San Migels - expensive comfort food

Garden Grill - afternoon dessert time

Next trip in December

Biergarten - to see if WDW does Octoberfest as well as New Braunfels.

My DS eats the mussels,,the rest of us don't eat mussels. HOWEVER,,we are BIG TIME clam eaters. We figure that there are bout 2 & 1/2 doz. clams per bowls (CAPE MAY PROVIDES AT THE BUFFET) ,,the four of us easily put away well over 800 clams at a sitting. Yea yea , I know,we sound like some real porkers,,well maybe we are a little,,but we only do it once a year. For me it's a real event...Mr.
