What is your favorite restaurant at WDW.

BDR:
I was sooooo disappointed with The Royal Table.

We skipped CRT this last time (despite owning a 5 year old princess-crazed daughter) and went to 1900 Park Faire instead, based on reports from the restaurant board on the DIS. That turned out GREAT!!!!

It did seem kind of weird getting my little princess showered at the comfort station and dressed in her Cinderella dress and sparkle shoes in the popup, but she looked lovely over at the Grand Floridian and we had a wonderful evening. The food, the server and the characters were all great. Even my two teenagers had a good time at the "princess" dinner.

You might want to try it sometime! :goodvibes

...who did have a wonderful dinner at CRT back in 2000, with beautiful memories of watching the evening lights come up in Fantasyland...

We also enjoyed the Biergarten, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern and TE (for breakfast), but everyone's favorites were Whispering Canyon and Le Cellier.

It just kills me what dining out costs at WDW, since we've always lived in places that have lots of wonderful restaurants at much more reasonable prices. But there's just something special about dining out at Disney! I'm fundamentally cheap, but at Disney it's part of the vacation.

...this trip: trying Boma & Teppan Edo, and taking the in-laws to 50's & WCC! ;)

We've been on the dining plan the last 2 trips, and I think it makes the food taste better when you don't know what it costs!

Our favorites are Boma & Jiko. Le Cellier is good too. TE is a good deal when not on the dining plan.

For counter service I like Columbia Harbour house (MK), Sunshine whatever it's called (Epcot) and Flame Tree BBQ (AK). Tusker House was my favorite, so we tried the new buffet for breakfast and thought it was great!

Last time DH & I tried the California Grill & loved it, but it could have been the 2007 dining plan talking.

We tried 1900 Park Fare for breakfast this time with my parents. I was really nervous because my dad is picky and prone to moodiness which ruins the meal for everyone. Luckily it worked out well, everyone liked the food (good variety, fresh) and the characters were fun. For breakfast it is/was Mary Poppins & Alice in Wonderland characters, plus I am pretty sure Pooh.

oh, i know what you mean, but can't seem to remember it either...i need a mama fix bad...

mozarella and tomatos $7.99..... enjoy jen and mr. goofy .......mrs goofy

Where is the best dessert at WDW ???/

The Twinkie Tirimisu at Pop is an experience. I have the recipe for it and have made it for many a baby shower~It is always raved about! The Creme Brulee from Narcoosees is great. The Grapefruit cake from Brown Derby is also really good!!!!

Forget about desert, my personal favorite is the beer cheese soup at Le Cellier.

You know, you could be on to something! I'm going to play around in my kitchen and see if I can come up with an actual recipe for Beer Cheese soup! I love a good cooking challenge!

Anything that involves beer and cheese, count me in. Those are my 2 favorite food groups!!!

Oh! so Le Cellier's recipe does involve beer. I was already working on creating my own. Maybe I'll make both and see which one is better!

Thanks for the recipe!:thumbsup2

Yeah, there are filters on the Dis. I got points once for circumventing them.

thanks for the info.. I am too tech stoopid to circumvent. so I just found another site with the recipe.

OK, I made my own beer cheese soup. I haven't tried Le Cellier's yet. It has bacon in the recipe and I don't eat bacon. I'm not sure what I'll do about that yet.

Anyway, I have no idea how they compare, but here is my recipe. Measurements are approximate since I don't measure anything.

I did mine in the crock pot.

Pour one bottle of beer in Crock ( I used Yeungling Black and tan for no particular reason) BTW, this is one measurement I'm sure of- one bottle.

I cubed about a cup and a half of extra sharp cheddar cheese and let it get all warm and soft in the beer.

Meanwhile, I sauteed sliced onions, about 2 cloves of minced garlic and fresh ginger in olive oil.

I put the onion mixture in the Magic Bullet with about 10 cherry tomatoes and whirled them around until they were unrecognizable.

I dumped the contents of the magic bullet into the crock and added a couple bay leaves, sea salt, oddles of pepper, 1+ TBSP chipotle sauce, 1TBSP worcestershire sauce, a few tsp chilli powder ( I like it hot, if you don't omit some of the chipotle and chilli powder), a couple tsp cinnamon.

After the mixture was thoroughly warmed (cheese melted), I added a cup of beef broth and whisked in about 1/4 cup of corn startch. I adjusted the seasonings to taste.

let it cook on low for a few hours.

Once I try Disney's, I'm sure mine will be put to shame. But for now, it's pretty yummy!:goodvibes

Potato chips and steak, the other 2?
