As of yesterday I have only just started to go back and listen to the Pre-Video Podcast's. I found the show in March of 2013, and have since watched every episode religiously since. As I scroll through the list of episodes I find myself hunting for the classics, such as the "cleaning lady" rant episodes. I wanted to put this Thread out there for fans of the show that have been watching from the very beginning, to help all of the newer fans discover the all time classic moments that you have enjoyed. I ask that if you able to, please include the episode date in your post, to make it easier to find in the archives.

While scrolling through the archives yesterday, I discovered a hidden Treasure. Titled "The Sick Show" which aired on 1/05/2011, This episode featured Pete Solo in the studio, and included one of my all time favorite Rants. I felt Pete hit the nail on the head with his Rant on Resort Specific Merchandise. This has been something I have felt has been lacking for a long time. It's insane for Disney not to offer the merchandise like they used to. One of my favorite items to purchase while on property are unique coffee mugs, however they seen to have almost completely disappeared from the resorts. Disney knows that part of the reason we stay on property is for the Theme experience of each resort, and what better way to enjoy that experience after your trip has ended , then to take a piece of that resort home. Each resort theme opens the flood gates for merchandise possibilities, and yet Disney chooses to put there merchandise dollars towards "Walt Disney World 2014" t-shirts, hats, and mugs. I just don't get it. Anyhow, I suggest you check out "The Sick Show" episode, and hopefully you will enjoy it just as much as I did.

Anyone who is a fan of Bob must listen to the podcast from 1/8/2008. All I'm gonna say is "Mojeetos...MOJITOS". It's guarenteed to give you a great laugh.

I can't think of a favourite particular episode, but I do enjoy dining reviews when Kevin has awful service! There was one I listened to recently from 2009 (I think) where the server pretty much had a meltdown because they asked him for bread rolls :rotfl2: I guess it shows that the servers really don't know who he is and what he's doing!!

Also Pete's rants that come from nowhere are always great - I recently heard the cleaning lady one :thumbsup2

Any episode with a dining review from Kevin is my favorite.

I agree. I have been listening since almost the beginning and every time I hear that there is going to be a dining review from Kevin I get a little smile on my face and become excited.

Apparently, I need to get out more. :scratchin

I love Pete, but not always a huge fan of his rants.

I have only recently discovered The Dis and that was due to stumbling across a DisUnplugged podcast on youtube.
My first one I watched was Disney Rumours hosted by Dustin.

So that is my favourite one :) also if.I had to pick a favourite member, it would have to be Dustin, because he hosted the first one I saw. Also, he has a beard!

I episode I keep on my iPod consistently is from 10/08/2008 "Party for the Senses" Episode. Its where Kevin and John discuss that party. That episode is particularly interesting to me, because they go into so much detail about the event.

It made me feel like I was there, even though I'm 8 hours away! Like music to my ears :music:

I love the show with the dining review from Kevin with the "sad little crab cake". That's one of the most memorable ones.

I also love the Ladies' shows, and wish they would bring them back!

I have to admit -I also love to hear a negative review from Kevin! His delivery is the best. I'll add that I also enjoy the positive reviews as well.

Most of my favorites usually involved Bob Varley and his “visual aids” that he would bring in for the audio only podcasts. The time he brought in Dole Whips he had picked up to give to the podcast crew, while in the MK before coming to record the show. With his cooler in tow and a story about melting, eating and the passing out of empty Dole Whips cups to the crew; all was put in perspective with a comment from (I think) Kevin - So what you brought us was your trash.

I discovered The Dis Unplugged in 2013. I considered myself a WDW vet because I'd been going there since 1976 (I was a wee lass). I've been going to DL since 1995 as well!

But here I was planning my huge 2014 trip to WDW, and suddenly My Disney Experience happens and I realize for the first time in forever that I need help planning my trip! I searched YouTube to find a good, solid explanation of MDE.

There were so many different "Disney experts" who had videos, so I checked a variety of them out. Well, I suffered through some bad videos and a couple of decent ones, but BY FAR the best one was Shaun Thompson's explanation of how MDE worked. The video was so darn good that I wound up looking up The Dis Unplugged. So, that's why Shaun is my favorite podcaster!

However, my favorite moment in a podcast belongs to Kevin. It was a very early video one, when one of the news items was a possible ABC show based on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The concept was a wealthy New York doctor who moves his family out West to the great frontier. Kevin drily commented, "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Coaster." And I almost choked on the water I was drinking because I started to laugh so hard!

The sarcastic remarks on the Dis podcasts are the best. I think Kevin gets the award for the most. " Sad little crab cake" from the Coral Reef review and the " bleeding dessert" form Cinderella's Royal Table are 2 of my favorites.

There was also a Bob Varley report about some type of festival taking place in an Orlando suburb. It involved measuring "pig doop" and a helicopter. I'm still scanning the archives, but it was a classic!

The episode from June 16, 2010 has a couple of my favorite memories. This is Kevin's infamous review of Shutters at CBR. I'm not the best at remembering things verbatim, but I will never forget his comments about the "witches of Eastwick" and the "autopsy" on a plate! :rotfl2:

This episode also included Dave Parfitt's interviews from the opening of the World of Color at Disneyland. I loved the feeling I got from listening to this. It was the first time as an adult that I remembered having the information and getting excited about something that was happening at Disney, even though I wasn't in-person to experience it. I remember watching the grand opening special of Epcot as a kid, but Disney stopped doing t.v. specials like that (at least that I was aware of.) The WOC opening gave me a sense of excitement about something new, and was part of the reason why my DH and I decided to head out to Disneyland for the first time later on in 2010.

This episode was also my first. Needless to say, I was totally hooked after it!

This is also one of my favorites. Of course, I do love a good Pete rant! The thing that impressed me the most was how, even though I love the whole team, Pete could carry the show completely by himself. :mic: Seriously impressive!

Any show with jcb ( jack the chip and dale fan burgin) is on is my favorite show any of them. Or any Pete rant will do specially the ones John sets up he knows how to set them up just right.

I love the one at Christmas time when the team talks about the elves that will come to the room and the special key for Santa. Too funny. "Hi, I'm Carl"...hilarious!
