the pioneers and "Laura Ingalls Wilder" days. I love reading books set in that time period.
I assume that you've stumbled across Patrick O'Brien's novels? If not, you should give one a try. His Aubrey/Maturin series focuses on the R.N. during the Napoleonic period. Much detail about the sailing and lifestyle aspects of British navy officers during that time period.

I enjoy learning about the 1800's, the pioneers and "Laura Ingalls Wilder" days. I love reading books set in that time period. Also the 1940's. I would have loved living in either of those time periods.
Are you "me"???
Couldn't have said it better myself..Would love to be able to take one of those vacations out west where you actually head out via wagon train and camp in the wilderness - just like the Ingalls did..
MIGrandma: Although I've been hung up on reading strictly Amish books for months now, could you suggest some authors of the 1800's/pioneer books you've read? If you prefer, you can PM me.. Thanks!![]()
