What is your favorite Disney memory?

[color=0066ff]One of mine is from last year when I took my niece and nephew who were 10 and 9 at the time. It was late in the day at MK and we hadn't eaten dinner yet but my friend Lori wanted to ride IASW before we left. The kids were getting cranky but there was no line so onward to singing dolls.
Right off the bat Christopher and Autumn start complaining how they're starving (they're so dramatic) and I suddenly remember that I have leftover chicken fingers in my backpack that we had for lunch.
So I start passing out chicken fingers to the whining children. Then Lori pipes up that she's getting quite hungry too so I give her the ziplock bag of chicken. I know they don't like you eating on rides but I had to do something for our famished group.
As we're leaving the park I start laughing from thinking of what we must've looked like singing along to IASW and eating cold chicken fingers.

Does anyone else have a cute or funny story about their trips to WDW?[/color]

It really would be sort-of Disney.

My son had begged to go to WDW before he turned 9. I told him off and on all year that there was no way I could afford it. Even cried with him a few times because I wanted to take him. (Had it planned the whole time)

So, when I finally gave him the WDW for Kids by Kids book and had a Mickey Ball from Gifts of a Lifetime delivered, it was so special to have him so excited.

I would just have to simply say it would be the first time DH and I arrived on Disney property and drove under those arches! I was like, "I'm at Disneyworld with my husband! It's my second time here and his first!" Then when we arrived at the Shades of Green and showed the gate guard our pass, that sealed it in stone for me....WE WERE THERE AND IF ONLY FOR 3 DAYS....WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A BLAST!!

We took DS in January for the first time. Here was his first character experience. The look on his face, a little apprehension, but mostly joy and excitement, carried throughout the 11 days

I actually have 2.
The first one was on my DD first trip to DL , she was 3 at the time. We went to the wishing well and when Snow White started singing " a ha a ha ha" my daughter would repeat it with her. She's 9 now and she still sings along with it.

The second one was on yet another trip to DL and there was a girl in a wheel chair there that was severly handicapped when goofy came up. Well instead of saying excuse me and walking through I stood back so the family could enjoy. Well the family left and Goofy came up to me and at the same time my DH had called me on the radio asking where I was. Goofy motioned for my radio and I told my DH someone wanted to talk to him. Goofy said "uh yuk" and my husband came around the corner and saw him and said "gwarsh" back to him. I only wish I had this one on tape, since Goofy is my DH favorite character.

It was my FIRST TRIP so don't laugh! We were in Frontier Land and I wanted to get to the train that goes around the park. I saw signs for a train and headed that way. After going up and down a couple ramps with tons of people in front and back of us, I wondered why the line was so long. Then I spotted the runaway train and realized we were on the wrong line! LOL! Looking behind us, there was no way we could go back. The only way was to get on that ride! I had only been on Barnstorm! Well, I had my first taste of a roller coaster. Thank goodness it was an easy one.

The 2 moments I remember most are.....1) In 1995, my DW and I were on our honeymoon when I see the Beast. DW decides to take a picture but says she can't tell who the Beast is and who her DH is. 2) In 1996 DW and I were at Disneyland, walking away from the castle, when she looks up in the sky... then screams.....a bird left her a "present" on her left eye! Luckily, DW wasn't upset for too long.

I would have to say my favorite Disneyworld memory happened on my first trip there back in '73. My Mom and I went with my Grandparents. Grandma couldn't walk the long distances so we had a wheelchair for her. We were stopped for some reason, and Chip 'n Dale came up to her and interacted with her for several minutes. One tickled Grandma under her chin, one sat on the arm of the wheelchair. It was just so neat the way they made her day extra special, and the look on her face was precious.

I believe it was in 1996, my dd was 4 yrs old. We were walking in Epcot and passed one of those large gates that the characters emerge from and low & behold out comes snow white & dopey.

She was the only one around for about 5 minutes. Snow said to her "Someone told me there was another princess here today so I came to say hello to you"

I wish I had the picture here to post. It was worth a million words.

Mine was being there for my 9th birthday with my grandparents. It was just Magic Kingdom at the time and was just as magical as it is now - I think moreso because I was there with my grandma and grandpa as well as my family. Little did we know - that 8 months later my grandpa wouldn't be with us. It was a great time and left such wonderful memories for me - about one Sunday a month we would all gather at grandma and grandpa's for dinner after church and we would usually stay for quite a while. I remember so much sitting and watching the Wonderful World of Disney (or Dizzy as my grandpa use to pronounce it). It was great to be a kid!!!!!

There are just so many memories for only three visits! The first is with my (then future) husband. It was his first time and my second. We were in MGM getting ready to head back when it just started to pour. We had no umbrellas or raincoats but we didn't care, we just held hands running and laughing the whole way back to the bus.
The second memory is from last year when we took our kids for the first time. I think just seeing their first reaction to everything. Their faces when we walked into ASMo, the first glipse of each park, etc. My daughter's favorite had to be when Belle told my daughter to give Snow White a message for her! She still talks about it!

My favorite memory was when my sister and I a were kids every year for Easter my dad took us all to WDW for Easter Break. My parents would take us out of school a day early to get to WDW and we loved going every year.The first year we ( as novice Disney people) drove to Orlando and the only park Hotels were the Poly and Contemporary which had 2 year waiting lists, but my dad managed to get us a room a the Poly anyway. Yeah we loved staying there every year for Easter. Now I look forward to someday making the same traditional Pilgrimage with my family

My most favorite memory (well I actually have 2) is at my 6 yo DD's Make A Wish trip back in 2001 at MK. Our first day, she was getting autographs from the Country Bears - one of them took her around to the other bears to get their autographs and really treated her special. Well on our last day there, on my DD's 5th birthday we were walking through the castle and out comes a line of characters like you wouldn't believe. We stopped and watched them all walk through and here comes the Country Bear(forget his name at the moment) and he stopped and motioned my DD over and hugged and hugged her. He remembered her from our first day!!!! The CM kept after him (???) to keep moving but he kept waving to her to come down front. We went down and he had a CM take her to all the characters and she was able to get all the autographs of all of the characters that were out that afternoon. Disney World is so wonderful with the Wish Kids.

Another was also on our first day at MK, her first ride on IASW. Her eyes were huge as we went through the first time. We have it on Video and she loves to watch it and always says to me. "I know Mom you love my big eyes, it was so cool."

Mine was when I was 5 years old. I went to WDW for the first time and I was with my family. I remember the utter shock and joy I had looking at the castle. As my mom lead us through the hub and up to Cinderella Castle I remember being as happy as I could be. As we were looking at the beautiful mozaic inside, I began to touch the wall and then my mom quietly said to me that this was "my castle" after all I was always called Cinderellie by my mom. To this day, MK is always my "home" and I always spend time remembering what my mom said to me nearly 21 years ago... and I can almost see her and hear her during my moments looking at the mozaic wall... I am so thankful that she helped bring my love for Disney what it is today

I would say mine would have to be Having eeyore in toontown sign my t shirt not just with his sig but a rain cloud and drops I treasure it. Then EEyore noticed my pin lanyard and my one lone extra eeyore pin. Eeyore mostioned that he wanted it so he got it. I was in tears on my honeymoon and being spolied like a little kid by my favorite character and my DH just standing there taking pictures.

Meeting the P.I bartender that was a dead ringer for Spike(ok,it was cool in my book)

The look in my 18 month old DS's eyes when he first spotted Mickey. He yelled, "Ickey Moose, Mama!" and ran to him. Mickey bent down to his level and let him kiss him on the nose. It was precious. I'll never forget it.

As we leave the park the last night of each trip, DH always has us get our hands stamped. After all, you only get your hand stamped if you plan to come back, right? He says it means that we'll be back. We always explain to the CM's and they are good natured about stamping us.

Also my first and last view of the castle each time I visit. It makes me cry.

I have to say this moment, one of the evenings of our first, and still only, family trip to WDW, back in Dec of '99. The trip was a celebration of Marie's completion of her cancer treatments, surgery, chemo and radiation, from the previous year and her remission from breast cancer. We really did so much on that trip, all very first class. One night we did a celebration Illumination Cruise, complete with cake and all. Here is a picture of the four of us, Marie, me, Natalie and Vince. Great smiles, great trip. Someday, maybe we will all go again........I can dream.
