**** What Is Your Favorite Disney Memory? ****

My favorite memory was last Wednesday when we became DVC members so we can have more wonderful memories for the next 50 years!!!

The one I remember the most is my very first time watching Wishes. It was my first trip to Disney and I remember sitting there on a beautiful night with the perfect view and I had that I'm in Disney! moment. It was magical.

It sounds sort of mean that this is one of my faves...but here goes!!

DH, me and my mom, who was 66 at the time, went to WDW. It was mom's first time. She did every park, all day and loved EVERY second of it. She would say her fave memory was eating a hot dog on a curb while watching the xmas parade....but, I digress....

So, we enter the Honey I Shrunk the Audience theatre and well, you know how people don't move all the way down..? Well, we saw a full empty row in front of us. My DH, rebel that he is, decides to step over the seats and me and my mom are supposed to follow. Well mom didn't really get it that she was supposed to step on the seat and instead steps all the way over...she is now straddling the entire seat with one foot on the floor in one row and the other foot on the floor of the other row!! Hold on, lemme get off the floor. Okay, back to the story.

So she says "Oh, sh@#, I think I'm stuck." So she drops her butt into the seat, DH grabs one leg and flings it over the seat and her feet are straight up in the air. Now people all around her are doing the "OMG, maam, are you alright?" dance and here's me and DH....on the floor laughing!! I missed most of Honey I Shrunk the Audience cuz I was laughing so hard.

Yes, that indeed is my fave memory!! Okay, and Chef's Table at V&A...but that doesn't have any good story to go with it...just a FAB time with DH eating and drinking the wine flights....oh lord!!!

DH says his faves all center around the Yard of Beer (RIP). He just can't remember any of the stories. That's probably why it's not around anymore.

Me and my Mom getting chased down Main Street by Goofy. This was back when there was only MK, and my first time there.:goodvibes

In 1982 we took our then four-year-old son on his first trip to WDW. of course, we went to MK everyday, since Epcot hadn't opened yet. My son wanted to see Mickey very badly, but everyday, no Mickey.

On our last day we were leaving the park and there in front of the firehouse was Mickey. There were no character attendants in those days, so Mickey was all alone. My son said hi and hugged him, and I took their photo with my Polaroid SX-70 camera. When the photo popped out Mickey pointed to it like he wanted to see it, After he looked at it, he indicated that he wanted me to take another for him. I took it and gave it to Mickey, who put it in his pocket.

My son is 29 now, and hasn't forgotten that meeting.

I remember many moons ago my family was planning a trip to WDW, I think I was 9 at the time. I can remember us planning this trip for months and me being very exited since this would be my 2nd visit to MK and first to Epcot.

I can recall the night before we were supposed to go, something happened at my brother's job and I was told that we had to cancel our trip to "maybe next year."

I was crushed and couldn't understand why this was happening. That night, I sneaked downstairs and started praying to God over and over, that if we could please somehow go to WDW. I remember crying while I was praying and literary begging God to let us go on this vacation.

So after about an hour of this, I headed up slowly to my room and tried to close my swelled eyes so I can sleep. I've must have been deep asleep because when I woke up, I was in a van, on my way to WDW!

My very best memory is taking the boat ride to the Magic Kingdom. I remember vividly, seeing Goofy for the first time and in water skis, watching with anticipation as the castle got closer and closer and thanking God for answering my prayers and making a 9 year old boy's wish come true. :)

My favorite memory is taking my elderly father on Space Mountain. As we were
disembarking, he exclaimed loudly, "I think I left my b*lls somewhere around
Uranus!" I thought the CMs were going to choke!

When we were at MGM in 2006 we wanted to get a good seat to watch the Stars and Motor Cars parade so we staked out a bench early along the parade route that had a little bit of shade to wait. A CM came over an asked if my two kids who were 5 and 7 wanted to be in the the parade! :yay: They got to carry the rope the ends the parade.
But the best part was we got a VIP spot to watch all the cars and character start the parade. My son was wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers T-shirt and Alice from Alice and Wonderland came over to him and said "Steelers, ooohh, I sure hope your not going to steal anything!":rotfl: He thought this was just hilarious and he still talks about it! (and we got it on video!)

OMG this was too funny with your mom. I would have peed myself.:lmao:

My favorite memory is all of them but one comes to mind when DS12 was 3 years old and we were at MGM now DHS. We waited almost 40 minutes for Pooh and Piglet and we were the next to go when the CM said that Pooh and Piglet had to leave. Well, he started crying and the CM felt so bad she told us not to move from that spot. So we waited another 20 minutes and out from behind the gate was Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. She brought all of them out when only Pooh and Piglet were supposed to be there. Boy was he in his glory and I was crying. After he got everyone's autograph, all the others went back in and Pooh and Piglet remained. It was truly magical.

My favorite Disney memory?

When I was little my mom, dad, and grandmother used to goto Disney every year in November. We used to stay at either the Bungalows or Fairway Villas. My dad and I would usually get up early and go get coffee for him, and my mom and hot tea for my grandmother and I would always get chocolate milk. He would let me drive the golf cart too.

Ok, I have ALOT of favorite memories of Disney, but this is one the whole family still talks about today.
When I was about 16 or 17 we stayed at the Poly. We had a ground floor room and the sliding door you could walk out on to the beach. Well we used to sit out there everyday and there was this little duck with one leg. we dubbed him "peg leg" we fed him everyday and felt he was our pet. haha. :goodvibes
well the next year we decided to stay the the poly again and lo and behold we got the same room! And who was there to greet us, "peg leg"!!:lovestruc Im soo serious. A duck with one leg was there every morning we were there. We are still convinced it was the same duck. how many ducks only have one leg?? and we had the exact same room. when i can start to post pictures Ill have to show it.
He was our buddy. Im now 25 and have a 16 month old dd. Im sure there will be many more Disney memories but this one is one of the best.

We've only been to WDW once, but it was for our honeymoon and we made many memories. My favorite was walking down main street and seeing the castle for the first time ever. DH kissed me right there in front of it and it was the most romantic moment!

My favorite memory from our first and only trip so far was walking into Magic Kingdom for the first time! We happened to enter just as the show at the castle was beginning--the looks on my DD and DS's faces was priceless! After waiting and wishing to go for so long, we were walking down Main Street, my daughter said, "Look, Mommy! It's the castle! We're really here!"
:cloud9:
I teared up then, and I'm tearing up now!

But, it's an awful special on for me. To save time, let's just say my dear Mother and I loved each other, but for most of my life did not get along very well. As an adult I saved my pennies for two years to take my wonderful Pop and Mom to WDW. First, my Mom refused to go but Dad put his foot down and said "You're going." Then she complained about the car ride (that's a whole other story) and when we arrived and walked down Main Street she complained about the weather and didn't even acknowledge the beautiful surroundings. (By this point, I figure the "magic" will be tainted for me forever.) Then IT happened. She and I walked through the Castle to enter Fantasyland and she saw the Carousel! She grabbed my arm, turned to me with tears (real tears) in her eyes and said "Oh, please, can we ride it?" Pop and I never hesitated. We grabbed her arms and propelled her to the ride. Who would have thought she had this secret love of carousels? My parents were both nearing 80 by this time but you would never have believed it if you had seen her (with a bit of a bottom boost) climb atop that horse! I, fortunately, have a picture of her and Dad, both on horses, with smiles wide enough to cover Florida. When the ride was over, we walked away arm in arm and we never heard another complaint from her for the whole trip. Honestly, from that day on, our relationship changed completely. I know what a little "magic" can do! When I'm there now, I always feel them in my heart.

My favorite moment is always the last night when we watch the fireworks together. One week ago today we were standing together in the hub ... my DH with our DD on his shoulders, his arms around me, my arms around our two DS's who were standing in front of me. One big shared family moment. After the fireworks we had a big family hug then headed out of the gates for the last time. The last CM we saw said "Have a magical day". And it was ...

I have a couple of favorite moments...

* I met a family on the bus on the way to AK. They got chosen to be the family of the day. When they were being escorted over to KS, they saw me in line and told the CM that I was part of their family too. I got to be part of their private KS tour and was given a dream FP. This was my first time in AK and it couldn't have been better.

* Seeing Cinderella Castle from Main Street. It gets me every time.

* Getting my picture with Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable, my heroes. If they can do it, so can I.

* During my first spring break of grad school, I was feeling pretty unsure about school. I kept wanting to leave. I watched Wishes for the first time during that trip. The fireworks moved me. The show made me believe in my dreams again. I was reminded that as long as I believe in myself and work hard, good things will come.

This fits this category as well as grossest moment- My DW, DS 4, and I had just finished riding ToT. My DS said he wasn't feeling too well so I picked him up. It was getting close to time for Fantasmic to start so we headed that way. Again, my son said he wasn't feeling very well. And he threw up all over me. We didn't have time to go back to the hotel to change, and this was the only night we had scheduled to see Fantasmic. So we headed to the bathroom to clean up. We cleaned up, DS felt better, and we enjoyed the show. That was my favorite moment because it was at that time, with vomit squishing between my sandal clad toes, that I really felt like a father. Little David still talks about the time he threw up all over me.

Has to be my first trip thru SSE.Back before the internet and all.
Really had no idea what to expect. Was already in awe of the outside, but when the ride got to the top and per Walter "Spaceship Earth" came into view, that was the best.
