I was just wondering what was everyone's favorite Disney memory?

Is it of riding a specific ride, or staying at a specific hotel? Was it taking your children for the first time, or a memory of your childhood?

I never went to Disney as a child, only visited as an adult, my favorite memory is taking my oldest for the first time, he was 2, and we were all so excited! Over the years I've had alot of great memories but, really cherish the ones when my kids faces light up.

I have two favorite memories. The first is the first time we went to MK with our kids, seeing the castle was unforgetable! The second came this September, we ended our perfect vacation watching Wishes. I bought the wishes CD from the park, and now I listen to it everytime I need a little magic! :)

I remember my most memorable memory at WDW, it was back in 01' (I'm 13 now so I guess I was nine) We went with my whole family + my grandma. She had just been diagnosed with pancriotic cancer but it wasn't bad at the time. Through the years every time we'd go to WDW are family would have buddies. I was always with my grandma, and this trip was no exception. It was our last trip together and was the most magical for me. She passed away the following year and I will never forget our last trip to wdw together!

We stood one evening watching Tapestry of Nations years ago before it went away. The music and everything about it just moved me in such a way that tears were welling up and I got a lump in my throat. One of the dancers spotted our daughter, I think she was 5, and reached down and pulled her out to dance with them for a a ways. I about fell apart. I still get goose bumps when I listen to the cd.

At our one and only Cinderella breakfast Cinderella gave our then 6-year-old son a big old smooch on the cheek. He didn't wash the lipstick off all day.

Walking in the gates of MK and seeing the castle does it for me. I get all choked up!

My favorite memory before kids was when DH and I visited in the HOT summer month of July and it came one of those afternoon downpours. We were on Main St. and everyone ran for cover inside the shops. DH and I just took a casual stroll down Main St. just like it wasn't raining. For a moment we had the park to ourselves. :)

My favorite memory after kids is the last night of our trip. We were over by the Pooh playground watching Wishes. I will never forget their sweet little faces looking up into the sky and the reflection of the fireworks off their eyes. DH and I looked at each other with tears in our eyes and knew how precious that moment was.

MEMORIES THAT LAST A LIFETIME!!!!

Without a doubt it was the time my daughter forgot her 2 favourite toys at Hoop Dee Doo (Kovu & Kiara plush lions) she realized she had left them on the table when we were on the bus and it was so late we could not get back there to get them.

She was in tears about it.. but later when we got back to AKL and went up to our room, they were there on the bed with a note.

"We had fun at dinner but we missed you after!!!"

"We had a big adventure and now it is time for bed"

I was in shock and so touched that the people at Hoop Dee Doo had somehow arranged to get my DDs toys to AKL and that someone at AKL had taken the time to put them on her bed like that with the hand written note. It was really special and I can't think of anything that would top it. Also that they had beat us back to the resort!!

Another special memory was celebrating my 40th BD at Disney :goodvibes

Definately my honeymoon. I had never been to Disney as a kid, and only agreed to go to WDW on my honeymoon beacuse I knew it would be warm in Florida. I couldn't imagine what two adults with no kids were going to do there all week. About an hour after I walked through the gate, I was hooked. Now I can't wait to go back whenever we can and make more memories.

I have way too many!!

Going to WDW with my grandparents, and as we walked (the grandparents rolled) down Epcot through the backway, my grandmom started crying at the site of Spaceship Earth. She said "I can't believe I'm here again." She hasn't gone down since when she was a kid.

The first time I rode Rock n Roller Coaster with my mom, aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins. :woohoo:

And finally when we went to Epcot, and it was raining in the evening. And we came out from dinner (Germany *drools*) and watched Illuminations in the rain. It was soo much fun. There was some lightning too, and it seemed like Disney controlled the weather. The lightning streaked across the sky at just the right moments. Very cool!

I have a lot more memories coming up. I'm going down with my friend in August  and I'm going down for my 17th birthday. :yay: Plus hopefully, this upcoming trip, I'll be able to go on EE for the first time. :cool1:

I have three memorable moments at WDW:

1. Magic Kingdom with my mom in 1980. I was 28 years old and she was 64 at the time. She passed away suddenly two years later, so having fun with her at the Magic Kingdom is a very fond memory for me.

2. My son (now 19) was four years old when we went to MGM Studios for the first time. The day he met Leonardo of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was the highlight of his life - we have it on video and it is a great memory.

3. Two years ago my son and I met some relatives at WDW. My favorite aunt was 85 years old at the time and she rode Test Track with us. She absolutely LOVED it and we loved being with her when she was having so much fun.

I have many fond memories of WDW, but these three top the list.

There is a story behind this so ill fill you guys in on the story and then tell you my favorite memory.

A few Decembers ago it was late at night and my sister and I went on Big Thunder just before Spetro started. After we got off I called my parents to see where they were in regards to seeing the parade in Frontierland. Even though i had a good spot they told me to come down to them. My mom was talking to a woman and her daughter was Minnie in the parade! My dad took an amazing picture of her and her mom was thrilled and so happy. We exachanged emails and we are still very good friends with their family today. And earlier that day she was Scrooge behind the castle and we got a picture with her! We didn't even know it either. So when we got home and got my moms film developed we sent the daughter the picture of me and my sister with her as Scrooge and she personalized it and sent it back to us. I still have it framed in a little frame on my bookshelf.

As for one of my favorite memories. It was one December day and the daughter was doing the castle show and she was Minnie. We got to see her and we got big hugs and kisses and everything. I just thought it was really awesome to know someone who worked for Disney. :wizard: :wizard:

But my sisters favorite memory I think would be when she didnt know "the magic behind the magic" and we saw our friend behind the castle as Minnie and she gave my sister a shirt of all the characters names on it. My sister still has that shirt somewhere in her room. I also thought that was pretty cool. :wizard: :wizard:

Man that was alot to type!

My favorite Disney moment is the first time I ever got there. 1977 as a fifteen year old. We drove with a caravan from Pennsylvania. My dad was the leader. It was for my sister's and a friend's high school graduation. Took a year of planning back when just Magic Kingdom was open. We drove up to the entrance gates to Fort Wilderness Campgrounds (and what a special place that was for all six families!) and went totally insane.

1977 - height of the CB craze. My, at the age of fifteen, who had a sign on our van window saying "Disney World or Bust", picked up the mike and went to town. "Looks Like We Made It!" I sang that song and pretty soon everyone in our little party did too. Even some other truckers out there. We were so happy to be where we were. I remember that trip more vividly than any other one.

I could go on and on about what we did for that entire week. Just being there was enough. Flash forward 28 years to today and I'm just as giddy. I get to go this weekend with my dad and stepmother and ride Expedition:Everest.

I never went to Disney as a child either, but have been 3 times now and my fondest memory was our DD seeing Cinderella for the 1st time, gasp and say "Mommy, is that the REAL Cinderella?" How wonderful, she now is 13 and don't really want autographs any more, but she still loves the parks!

When my daughter was 5 we were in Disney and I accidentally hurt her when clipping her nails (nothing serious, just a mis-clip). She cried and it broke my heart. I told her that crying wasn't allowed in Disney World and that the next day when we got into the parks I would buy her anything she wanted to make up for it.

The next day we went to Epcot and made our first stop in Mouse Gears. I told her she could get anything and I meant it. She picked out a princess hat that was only about $15 (much to my surprise, I thought I was in for it giving her an offer like that!).

She wore the hat all day and every where we went it was like magic. Everyone treated her like real royalty! During the Tapestry of Nations parade a CM came over and whispered to her that if she would wave to the people in the parade that sometimes they would give her special attention! She did and she spent most of the parade in the middle of the street dancing with the "puppets." I have some of the most precious pictures from that day. That day, Disney had no idea how much they meant to me. I still get tears in my eyes when I hear the Tapestry of Nations music.

The first one is from my first trip to WDW. It was 2000 and there were 9 of us. Mom, DSis and DBiL, their 3 DD's 9, almost 6 and almost 3, and sis's inlaws and me of course. My youngest niece adored Buzz at the time. We were in MK at the Buzz ride and she was sound asleep on her Dad's shoulder. We all saw the "life-size" Buzz near the entrance while Maddie slept on. When we rounded the final turn in the queue my sister said "Maddie, there's Buzz" I never saw her wake up so fast, before or since (not a morning child) She loved the ride and loved seeing Buzz at MK and MGM.

My second memory is the Christmas 2002 trip I took with Mom. I treated us to YC concierge. Candlelight Processional, Osborne Lights, MVMCP, Le Cellier, Chef De France. A wonderful memory of a great time with my Mom.

I have two.

Our last day at WDW, my Mom and I always spent at MK. Prior to leaving, we'd go near the castle and I'd tell her that we made it one more time and that I loved her. Oct 2004, we stopped at the end of Main St, by the train station, and she told me it was 'our best trip ever'. That was our last trip together, as she passed away 1 month afterwards.

My other memory is her and I being getting to ride on the Mickey float in the AK parade. My Mom was in a wheelchair, so I ended up sitting behind her. I was able to watch her waving with both hands and seeing the smiles on people's faces as they looked at her is unforgettable. Luckily, another guest that we met on a previous trip was there at the same time and got a wonderful picture of her with her 'safari' hat on waving.

In January 2002 I got engaged at the Polynesian. It was our first night there after a very long drive (we were coming from New York) so we decided to to stay back at the Poly and watch the fireworks from the lagoon. It was cold and windy but we found a hammock with a perfect view of the castle. After the fireworks I said nothing could make this day more perfect and he handed me a box and said what about this and ask me to marry him!!!!

my favorite i guess would have to be oldest daughter sitting straight up in her chair sound asleep during our big lunch at king stephans( CRTnow), chef salad infront of her. just too funny

and chip and dale chasing our little girls all around at Minnie Mehuna brkfst then yrs later at the concourse doing the same thing to our not still so little teen girls

What great memories! I love reading these!!!

My tears-down-my-face, beyond happy moment was with DD (last year)...she just turned 3 yrs old and was beside herself with excitement to meet the princesses. We got up early, got dressed (DD in her Aurora dress, and me in my pink sweater with princess pins on it). We took pictures together, and took the bus to Epcot (before 8am). When we got there, we walked in the gate and everyone called her princess, asking how she slept (sleeping beauty, get it?) and we were driven in a golf cart to Norway for breakfast. When we got to Norway, we were greeted with a bow and flourish and escorted to our table. We ate and then the Princesses walked around. She was beside herself when she met Aurora...she was in tears and ran to her and hugged her. I was teary eyed myself. Afterwards, we went to the Living Seas and spent over an hour just watching.

We had our picture taken by a PhotoPass photographer...it was a beautiful picture, the woman who took it was studying to be a pro photographer. It really was an awesome picture, I'm a pro photogrpaher and certainly a hard critic!

It was a magical morning, I hope to never forget it!
