I just love Christmas/Holiday music and our local radio station has already started playing Christmas music on weekends. This inspired me to pull out my Christmas CD's. I have so many favorites that it is hard to find time to play them all. My favorite favorites are.....

1. Jim Reeves--I know.....sort of old fashioned, but my Grandma loved it and I grew up listening to this one.

2. John Denver and the Muppets--this one was always the first one played in our house as I was growing up. Mom would not let us start playing Christmas music until after dinner on Thanksgiving. As soon as the dishes were done, one of us kids would crank the music and this record/ CD was always the first one played, much to the dismay of my Dad.

3. December by George Winston--my little sister always had a hard time falling asleep on Christmas Eve until I played her this CD. Now it is a tradition that we both, each in our own homes, fall asleep to it on Christmas Eve.

So.....what are your favorites and why?

The Ally McBeal Christmas cd is one of my favorites, oddly enough. It has a great version of River sung by Robert Downey Jr.

I also like the old Time/Life one that has all the oldies but goodies.

Also, Jewel's Christmas cd is beautiful. I have to get a new copy of the Aaron Neville Christmas album--I love that man's voice.

So, basically, my favorite is every one I own--and those are just the tip of the iceberg. I caught dd with a bunch of 'em up in her room this morning. :teeth:

Oooh! So many...

Bing Crosby White Christmas - reminds me of home

Nat King Cole The Christmas Song - that silky voice just gets me

Amy Grant Home For Christmas - surprisingly nice job of the classics with some beautiful songs she wrote

Barenaked Ladies - Barenaked Holidays - Listen to God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman and you'll like it too

Boston Pops conducted by John Williams - It's John Williams, need I say more

Very Special Christmas 1 - all because of Whitney Houston's Do You Hear What I Hear and Annie Lennox's Walking In A Winter Wonderland

Harry Connick Jr. - When My Heart Finds Christmas - It's a different sound and his Ave Maria is great

Charlie Brown Christmas - Linus and Lucy is pure nostalgia for me :goodvibes

I like the Time/Life Treasury of Christmas, too. It has all the oldies but goodies by the "original" singers.

I just got a 6 CD set from our Magazine Drive and I listened to one of those and that was good. I haven't listened to them all yet so I don't know if they are all good.

Great Thread

Brenda Lee - Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. I've listened to this one since I was tiny.

Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song

Glen Campbell's That Christmas Feeling - another old family classic. I had to search a long time to get a copy of this on CD

Andy Williams Christmas Album - worth it for "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" alone!

Tony Bennett's Christmas album

I also like the Now compilations, as well as Manheim Steamroller.

I LOVE Christmas music. Ready to start playing on Thanksgiving evening too!! :Pinkbounc

I have this too and it's always been my favorite.

Another I have is cd that has The Royal Guardsmen with all the Snoopy vs. the Red Baron songs on it, plus other songs. I don't know what the CD is called, I have it packed away, but I've always liked Snoopy/Red Baron songs growing up. I'm not sure why though, but they sure remind me of my childhood.

1. Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Christmas Cd
2. Cabbage Patch Christmas (Well It is not a cd I have it on record)
I have myself dancing to his record as a child.

I love Very Special Christmas 1, too. Also, Kenny Rogers I think it's called the Gift. His version of Mary Do You Know is fabulous! My other favorites are Gloria Estafan's Chrismtas and The Judds Christmas.

We have TWO radio station that started playing Christmas music on Nov. 3rd. I usually hate it this early, but this year I love it!

Veggie Tales: A Very Veggie Christmas -its very funny!

Andy Williams... my absolute favorite. We even saw his Christmas show several years ago and my sister and I were called up on stage while he sang "My Favorite Things" :teeth:
