What is your favorite bottled salad dressing?

Go to the refrigerated salad area in the Produce Dept. Look for Marie's in a jar, get ANY of them, they are the B E S T!:thumbsup2 I always get the Blu-cheese, and have tried the ceaser one, its awesome too!:thumbsup2

Poohbear, you are so right on the Marie's Blue Cheese. Every now and then on a Saturday night, we have "wing night" for something different, and I buy a jar. I make buffalo wings, and serve carrot and celery sticks with it and the Marie's. DS (13) and his friends love this meal.

Care to share the secret with a 1000 of your closest friends :lmao:

It's mostly technique. I cut a fresh garlic clove in half and rub the cut side all over the inside of a wide ceramic bowl. Then I put in my greens and veggies on top. I drizzle everything with olive oil (I swear by Phillippo Berrio extra virgin). I have a great oil decanter--I think it's important to have one with a small cap that can drizzle delicately. I sprinkle the top of the salad with ShopRite brand garlic salt, Badia's Italian seasoning, and fresh ground pepper.

Then I toss it well with a big fork and spoon. I repeat the oil drizzle, seasoning and toss at least one more time. I taste it then to see if it's right, and when it is, I sprinkle a little bit of Regina red wine vinegar and give it another toss.

I serve it then, and that's it. I'm picky about my ingredients, but that's the way I cook. It's really all about moistening all of the greens and vegetables with good olive oil that makes it special.

Oh... my ... goodness. Can I please come to dinner at your house?? :goodvibes

I don't have a special oil decanter, but I do poke a couple of small holes with a nail on top of my vegetable oil & olive oil bottles. I purposely leave the little plastic, tamper proof, inner seal on the bottle. The one where you're supposed to pull off and remove after you unscrew the cap - only it leaves a HUGE opening then once it's removed. Then I take a nail & lightly poke the holes in the plastic.

I do the same with my vinegar bottles, so I can shake out the vinegar.:thumbsup2

I've also replaced almost all the screw caps on my pour bottles with the pour spout tops from dishwashing liquid or those "sports caps" from bottled waters. They work great on regulating how much liquid comes out, and no more screwing tops on & off! :woohoo:

We also use Marie's Blu-cheese or 1000 Island. Yum!

Sometimes we get the Bob's Big Boy Blu-cheese or 1000 island. But we prefer Maries

Imzadi, are you near any Fairway stores? They opened one last spring in Paramus, and it's my new favorite food shopping experience. I go at least once a week for coffee, olives, mozzarella and other things.

Fairway sells their own fresh balsamic vinegariette that is awesome! O.K., it's not Greek, but man, is it good! It's in the refrigerated case where they keep their own soups and dips. It's like $4 a bottle, but it has all natural, quality ingredients.

My oil decanter is from a vineyard my in-laws visited in Napa Valley, CA. It's a heavy glass decanter that came with a stainless steel tip that allows air to flow in, so it drizzles nicely. I used the oil that come in it years ago and refill it with Phillippo Berio EV from Costco. Have to use a funnel to get the new oil into the decanter, but I only need to fill it up once a month or so.

Regina sells a cute little bottle of vinegar that comes with a plastic lid that has 3 small holes drilled into it--perfect for sprinkling. The bottle is shaped something like a genie bottle, and like I do with my oil, I refill it with vinegar from a bigger, more economic bottle.

I love Trader Joe's salad dressings. My fav is the caesar dressing (in the produce section), and the goddess dressing coming in at a close second.

Hidden Valley fat free ranch is the only one I use, love it!

I usually buy a bottle of Italian dressing from the Olive Garden, and I also like Kraft's Cucumber Ranch.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2....Ken's Blue Cheese is awesome....

That's my vote...and around here it is often cheaper than the rest.

My second choice is to make my own using Balsamic Vinegar, EVOO and Cavender's Greek Seasoning. Just sprinkle/pour on salad and toss.

I like Naturally Fresh -they are in the refrigerator section
my favorites are light ranch and ginger

I agree.

Naturally Fresh light ranch is the only bottled dressing I buy. Other than that I make mine from scratch.

Zia's Italian. It's from a local restaurant on the Hill here and is sold at grocery stores in the area, but I don't know if it's available anywhere else.

I agree!! :lovestruc I love TJ's Tuscan Italian dressing as well as their Caesar dressing (there's one that comes in a jar in the rerigerated section called Creamy Organic Ranch which I love even more than Hidden Valley ranch).

Any variety of Ken's.. I don't like Wish Bone at all, so if I can't get Ken's, I'll get Seven Seas..

My favorites are the Italian flavors; ranch; and French..:goodvibes

LOVE Ken's Three Cheese Italian!

ETA: And Marie's Blue Cheese. :)

Other than Ranch I don't really care for bottled dressing. I have an oil/vinegar/lemon/garlic/ parm cheese recipe that is my staple.

I love the dressing at several of our local greek/lebanese restaurants, but I can't find any recipes that are similar. One is an oily dressing and the other is a creamy, cucumber (and probably yogurt) dressing. If anyone has any good greek recipes to share, please do!

Imzadi, I've tried several bottled Greek dressings but never found any I liked.

Kraft's Green Goddess dressing is FANTASTIC!

I fell in love with the Green Goddess salad at Narcoossee's on our last trip, and was so excited to see Kraft made GG dressing! :thumbsup2

Of course, it's not as good as Narc's, but it'll do. :)

I like the Marie's and Marzetti dressings. Two of my favorites are blue cheese and also the poppyseed.
