What is your fav. DVC resort?

I know this has probably been asked before but what is your favorite DVC resort on WDW property.

We are trying to decide where we want to take our first vacation to WDW as DVC members.

I would have asked about SSR as that is our home but obviously no one has stayed there yet...

Be prepared to get into the situation our family is in-my favorite, BCV; DH's favorite, OKW; DS's favorite, BWV. I can see why DH loves OKW best-he sees it as a vacation at WDW, with the emphasis on vacation. Rest, peacefulness; he won't even consider BWV-too much hustle and bustle for him. DS loves the active atmosphere (as he sees it) of the BWV. I love the New England Beach theme, sand under my toes, eating too much ice cream, at BCV.

My son is 4 so I know which one he will like the most. Whichever one has the biggest arcade. I go more for the not much to do so everyone is quitely tucked away in their own rooms or are in the parks and my DW would like the one with the most shops. LOL

Hi, michaeln. About the only thing I'm certain of, is that you will get a variety of opinions about this.

I voted VWL, as that is both my wife's and my favorite on-site DVC resort. We like this particular resort because of the great theme, and incredible theming. If you havn't seen it, I suggest you at least visit.

It really depends on what you like. If you would enjoy walking to the Boardwalk, than BWV or BCV would be a better choice. If you enjoy a condo style villa, than OKW would be great.

I don't think you can go wrong no matter which you choose.

OKW -- largest units, best value, laid back and relaxed atmosphere, great layout.

By the way this is not a knock against any other DVC resort. We have enjoyed the four we have stayed at so far.

Now if you asked about any Disney resort, then I would give serious consideration to AKL at WDW and Grand Californian at DL. We have stayed at almost every WDW resort and have enjoyed each stay.

Our Fave depends on the trip.... We love all the DVC resorts.... I suppose DH would say OKW the best, because he loves parking right outside the unit and golf. I gotta say I like BWV's for its theming and location, as well as BW nightlife.... Kids wold say BCV. We own at the above resorts. But we all also really liked VWL and HH.... havent stayed at VB yet....

Soooooooooo to make a long story even longer... I am not voting. They all have a huge place in our hearts!

Well VB and HH doesn't interest to much as we live on Hilton Head. Going from one beach to another doesn't make to much sense. LOL

We signed up as well, my DW is obsessed with Disney and I like it very much myself.

She went for the first time at the start of Sep. We took our son Mikey for his fourth birthday.

All I have heard since we got back is, Disney this, Disney that. She wants to go on our anniversary in Jan but we was told we can't use our SSR points until may so we are planning a vacation and taking her parents with us in May/June of 04.

BCV, you just can not beat that easy walk in and out of Epcot!

We really enjoy all the DVC resorts and almost always stay at multiple resorts on each WDW vacation. But if I had to rate each resort the ratings would be:
OKW A+++
WLV A++
BWV A+
BCV A

OKW got my vote for all the reasons mentioned before plus I always cook and it is much easier to get your groceries from the car to your room (no need for a bellman). The only other DVC resort we have stayed at was BWV and I don't think I could ever stay there again - had a very bad experience. Guess we will have to try BCV as the location is close.

Definately BWV....but I must admit I've never stayed anywhere else....but I don't want to either....at least yet...

My vote goes to VWL. IMO it's the most "themed" of all the resorts, and the most "disney" resort of the four. That's my opinion. By the way, my wife's favorite is BWV... She likes being close the most action. She's a city girl.

When I voted, I was surprised to see such a close race. I thought OKW and BWV would have runaway leads, simply because of the large number of members at these resorts.

BWV for the fantastic location. Not only is it located very close to 2 major parks but also because it is a very integral part and part of the orginal planning of the resort, the villas are very conveniently located near the main pool, restaurants, shops, boardwalk entertainment, nightlife etc. BWV also has the advantage of guaranteed reservations for their prime view villas--boardwalk view and has the advantage of lower pt villas with the standard view villas.
