Our's is on our first night go to the Hoop De Do Reveiw. The other is go to MVMCP and Candlelight Processional. We go first part of December so that influence's our traditions. What is a family tradition when you visit WDW?Do you go to favorite dining venue or attraction first?:earsboy:  :earsgirl: :sunny: :teeth:

Our family tradition is the first night we are at Disney, we do Chef Mickey's! :) Our kids (5 and 3) really love this and gets us all in the magical mood for our stay! :)

The very first thing we do is head to the MK and ride IASW!! DS has decided that we should start a tradition of making 1900 Park Faire our first dinner of our trip. :)

We always spend one evening shopping at DTD. We always eat once at RFC. We always get at least one Mickey Bar during our stay. These are the only constants other than being somewhat depressed as we drive off property. Mickey

One is a Chef Mickey Breakfast.
The other is a visit at some point to the Wilderness Lodge. We take a picture at the big totem pole and we take the elevator to one of the seating areas overlooking the amazing lobby and just chill out for 15 minutes!

On our first day there, we check in and always go to EPCOT. We ride SE together, and then do the rest of FW. It has been our tradition for the last 5 or 6 trips. We then head back to our resort to rest up, unpack, swim, etc.... and get up the next morning and head to MK!

We always eat at Beaches & Cream our first night. Not fancy, but fun.

On our first day we eat at Donald's Breakfastaurus and spend the morning in Animal Kingdom :)

We always eat at Planet Hollywood at least once.
They have great burgers. :)

We always get a Dole Whip at MK and eat it in the sitting area just around the corner (just over the bridge in Adventureland). It's a little bit out of the way, usually empty and is so lush and tropical that we always take a picture there with the kids after our DoleWhip. It's amazing to see how they've grown over the years when we compare the pics.

On our first day, We spend the morning going to Animal Kingdom and eating breakfast at the Tusker House after ther Safari ride.

These are great folks. Our upcoming trip is our first family trip, so we have to come up with our own little traditions. There are some great ideas here.

One night, we stay at the Magic Kingdom until the park officially closes, then hang in the gardens in front of Cinderella's Castle taking pictures in the same place each time. We slowly work our way to Main Street for an ice cream treat. This way, we have an extra hour to enjoy the park when it's all lit up and relatively quiet. We've met some great CM from all over the country that way.

Being local and being able to go the parks is great, but we still have a tradition when we stay onsite. One evening 10 years ago when DS was 5 and DD was 1, I took DS to the BC arcade while DW was getting DD ready for bed. He enjoyed the alone time with dad and being out late. Over the years we have visited all of the resort arcades and when DD was old enough to join in, it became a family tradition!

Now, no matter how late at night or how tired we are, when we get back to the resort we always head for the arcade at least once. Something everyone looks forward to.

After we check in, we head to MK and the first thing we do is ride around the park on the train.
Since we like to go during the first part of December (our Christmas), it is a tradition for me to buy my DH a hat and shirt from ESPN and he buys something for me in one of the parks. :)

Going to Epcot on our first full day.

I still remember the thrill I had on my very first trip when I got off of the monorail and stared up at Spaceship Earth! I relive that each time...oh, the magic! It even does more for me than the castle.

It is about a 6 hour drive for us to WDW so we alway plan to arrive just in time to check into our hotel at 4pm then head to the Contemporary for some shopping then dinner at Chef Mickey's with some friends who live in Orlando. We usually stay around the Contemp for awhile then head down to the beach to watch the Electrical Water Pageant.

The EWP reminds me of my childhood since it hasn't changed since then! The kids love it too. I wish I could find the music to that somewhere. Anyone know if it is online anywhere?

The great thing about doing Chef Mickey's first are that you get your character pix and autographs out of the way! This year on Spring Break we went with a family who had never been to WDW - they loved the atmosphere and being able to get some pix the first day there! It just added to the magic.

MK - First Night!!

We usually arrrive by mid-day and settle into our hotel. After we are settled we must go to MK!!!! First we catch a few Fantasyland rides and IASW is a must. Since its always been a Sat. evening also we always watch Spectro and the FITS. It is such an awesome way to start our vacation. We then feel totally immersed in the World and look forward to the rest of our week!! :)

Our's is simple. Jumping up and down on the beds when we get into our room:Pinkbounc :bounce:

When our sons were little, they both loved the Peter Pan ride. We had to ride it over and over again. They are 11 and 13 now, but they insist on making Peter Pan the first ride of the vacation. Even when DW and I took a trip without the boys, we made it a point to ride Peter Pan first.
