I went to a technical school for medical assisting. Did go to 2 yrs at a university before I dropped out.:rotfl2:

I have a bachelor's degree, I'm a licensed massage therapist and now I'm training to be a holistic health counselor.

Yes, that's what it is but not what I am. I was being snarky because I'm not fond of braggy threads.

Who's bragging? I was just wondering what the educational demographic is on here. Education doesn't make someone better or worse than another. A bit defensive, are we?????

Not defensive at all, as I have absolutely no reason to be. I've been here forever and have never felt the need to compare educational statuses.

I don't feel the need to broadcast my achievements.

I have a high school diploma.

I graduated in 1975 and back then it wasn't 100% necessary to go to college in order to get a decent job. Not many of my friends went on to college. I never had the desire to go.

DH didn't go to college either. He farmed with his Dad when he was in high school, and we got married in September 1975, after we both graduated from high school in June, and we started buying half the farming business/farm equipment, etc.

Yup, my mom graduated a few years before that and, same as you, it wasn't necessary to further her education to get a decent job back then. Sometimes I wish we still lived in the days of learning the family trade.

This is basically me...2 years at USF then moved with DH when he enlisted. But through the Army(GREAT opportunity for spouses as well) I have a Vet Tech Certificate and am working on a Pharm Tech one now.

I voted other - I have a J.D.

Me too.

Thanks! Just out of curiosity, do you get a J.D. from a law school right after your bachelors or do you have to get a bachelors, masters, then a J.D.?

You do not have to have a masters to get a J.D. Law school can come right after obtaining a bachelors in college.

We are not allowed to be called "Doctor" except as an attorney in an academic setting.

And only because some day it might win you a piece in Trivial pursuit... :lmao:

After getting a JD, you can get a law Masters (LLM).

I always thought it interesting that you first get a doctorate then a masters in the field of law.

:goodvibes

Thanks~I never knew much about that. So, if you work as a college professor, you are referred to as "Dr._____"......is there such thing as furthering your education even more to a Ph.D in law or is a J.D. the highest you go?
