What is your best remedy for sore feet?

We like to bring sandals along, or sneakers along if we start the day in sandals, Stick them in a locker and switch midday really helps with the walking.

A hot tub bath at night is great, loosens the sore muscles in your legs and feet up nicely.... :sunny:

I second the motion on getting what you pay for as far as shoes go. Personally I like Tevas. Make sure you walk every day for at least a month or so before you leave, both to break them in and to get yourself in shape. I walk my dog every day and when I was there in January, I walked circles around both my son and GD.

I took Arid creme antipersperant and rubbed it into my feet every morning, then covered them with Body Glide and never got a blister. Whether you use spray or creme make sure it is antipersperant, not deodorant. I couldn't find the Body Glide locally, so ordered it for like $6.99 off the internet. I also used the Body Glide everywhere else on my body that I might chafe. Before I went to bed every night I rubbed my feet with peppermint lotion. I would carry moleskin and blister bandaids into the parks, just in case, but hopefully you won't need them. Good luck!

I totally agree with the other posters ....it's gotta be the shoes!

The last time we went to WDW, I had very comfortable sneakers (went with 1/2 size up) and my feet weren't even tired when we got back to the room at night. You certainly get what you pay for.

Certainly get yourself into shape and break in your shoes. You will be much happier!!!!

Also, if you get a pedicure before you go, DO NOT let them file off your callouses. You will need them for all of that walking. On a previous trip, I had beautiful toes and nice soft feet that were covered with blisters (one on the bottom of every toe).

A good pair of New Balence 806 shoes and at the end of the day a relaxing soak in the hot tub at AKL.

Good shoes are essential. Unbelievably I found a great pair or shoes at Payless. I normally wear really light Nikes, but couldn't find any I liked or fit comfortably. Anyhow I ended up liking my cheap Payless shoes so much on my last trip I just bought a duplicate pair. I also have a great pair of Nike sport sandals that are really comfy. I find alternating between shoes helps a little. Gives the toes some breathing room.

Getting off your feet every few hours helps as well. Even if it is just sitting on a bench and people watching for a few minutes. Tylenol or Ibuprofen is a lifesaver for sore feet and legs.

I stand on my feet 8 hours a day 5 days a week, and I only wear Nike running shoes. My feet or legs never hurt. I like the tune air and air max, and zoom max.

If you have heel spurs, ice your arch/heel as much as possible.

Walking can be very painful for me - especially when I get up in the morning. Now after walking any distance I put ice on my arch/heel for 10 to 15min and the pain is very minimal. I was amazed how well it worked the first time, and now I swear by it.

I just carry around a couple of plastic ziploc baggies with me, and when we stop for food I ask for some ice in a small cup - pop it into the baggie, and then ice my heel while we are eating.

I want to agree on the deodorant also! I use a normal stick deodorant (usually secret - but the brand doesn't seem to matter all that much.) and rub it over all the usual blister spots in the morning before putting on my socks.

I actually have a whole foot regimen each morning at WDW! First the deodorant. Then I wear a pair of very thin "wicking" socks (I desparately need to find new ones - they are getting very worn!) and then a pair of normal cotton socks. (the 2 pairs of socks do not seem to make my feet any warmer - the first pair is VERY thin.) I then put foot powder into my shoes. The shoes are a good pair of athletic shoes (either walking or cross-training) since that is the only type of shoe my orthotic insoles fit into and I need to wear those at all times at WDW (no sandals for me :( ).

This sounds complicated, but it only takes a few minutes and it has made a world of difference! Before I learned/started this I used to get incredible blisters and it was very difficult to walk.

Occasionally, I have tried skipping a step (like the deodorant, or the 2 pairs of socks) and have always regretted it.
