What is your absolutely I will never forget moment at Disney?

My absolute favorite moment that I will never forget as long as I live:

I had been to WDW a few times before DS was born and on a whim, planned a trip in 2001 for DS (then 5), me and my mother. Mom had never been either. For MONTHS I tried to tell them how wonderful it was and got a little discouraged that neither one of them seemed very impressed with my descriptions, planning, etc.

Fast forward to our very first day at WDW. We got to MK and walked through the train station. It was like the flood gates opened!! Mom and Josh BOTH looked at the Castle and just started BAWLING and hugging me. Then of COURSE I had to bawl. We were all crying and hugging and all of a sudden, there was "someone else" in our group hug--it was GOOFY!! He had witnessed the whole scene and came to join in. It was PRICELESS!!

Now, of course, Grandma HAS to go with us each time--wouldn't be a trip without her!! And, we HAVE to cry when we enter MK--it's TRADITION!!! :)

My best/most unforgettable moment thus-far is split down the middle with 2 events on back-to-back days. The first being, the night I arrived for my College Program and my roommates and a few other people (all of whom I had just met) went to EPCOT and watched Illuminations:Reflections of Earth... Everytime I see it, it still brings back great memories, and maybe a slight tear or two.

The second being the very next day, when for the first time ever, I walked into the Magic Kingdom, we arrived just in time for the Dreams Come True Parade, I remember being 20 years old, and feeling like I was 5 the first time I saw Mickey, and all the other characters coming down Mainstreat in there "Snow Globes."

Easily two of my best memories.

June 15, 2002, my DH proposed to me during the fireworks at Magic Kingdom!! What an amazing moment!!!

BTW, this is PRICELESS and made me long for someone who understands me the way your DH does you!

My memory might sound a little strange but it is one I will never forget.
We were in Epcot last year and my dd7 was VERY excited to do Test Track. We waited in line and the closer we got, the quiter he got and he was holding tight to my hand. We got to the "gates" where they tell you which number to stand in to wait for the car. The full car of riders come back and those people begin to get off. My son turns to me with such a look of relief and said, "Oh, you don't die on this ride!" He thought we were actually going to be the crash dummies!!! :rotfl:

Told you it was strange!! BTW, Test Track is his all time favorite ride now.

My 40th Birthday - watching the Wishes fireworks from the California Grill :D

The time my daughter left her 2 special toys behind a hoop dee doo and someone drove them back to AKL and they were waiting on the bed for us when we arrived with a note :)

My most memorable moment was sitting on Main Street waiting for the Electrical parade with my parents, brother, husband and daughter in '00 and realizing that we were sitting in almost the exact same spot where I had sat as a child with my family over 20 years before to watch the parade.

Hey Bubbas Mom. We were there for hurricane Charlie. We ended up going to the MK that day and no one was there. We road space mountain and splash mountain 7 times each until they closed the park at 1pm.

That however was not my favorite moment. The best moment was sitting in Ohanas our first night there and experiencing "Wishes" for the first time. It brought tears to my eyes and just talking about is bring tears to my eyes again. This is one of those unforgetable moments that I will always cherish.

We were another family at the Coronado Springs during Hurricane Charlie. The lines in the Pepper Market were unbelievable. Before the parks closed at 1pm that day; we went to MGM and we rode every ride in there. We rode RNR at least 5 times in a row before I started to get a headache.

I have many fond memories but I need a moment to think of the one that stands out the most, give me a sec.....

I love reading all of your wonderful replies. I need to get some other things done today, so I really should turn off the computer. Been on all day but I always have a good feeling come over me when I read the DIS boards its the next best thing to actually being at Disney.

It happened February 2005. DH, DD8 and DD2 and I were waiting for Grandpa and Grandma to meet us at Imagination. We walked up the ramp on he outside where the jumping fountains are. While we were waiting, I notices a door with a sign that said something like This way to Figment. I thought Cool, maybe this is a sneaky way in to the ride area. So, I peered around the corner and Figment was peering around the corner back at me!!!! I was shocked and I jumped back a little. Figment took my hand and motioned me to enter. The CM with Figment asked me if I had my camera. I was so flustered at meeting Figment that I shook Figment's hand and told him I really loved the old Figment ride best. The CM took my picture with Figment and THAT"S when I started to CRY!!! Then I shook Figment's hand again and exited back to the fountain area where my whole family were looking for me. Then Figment marched out after me and we took more photos outside. (I kept crying!!!) THe CM hugged me and asked if there was anything else they could do for us. My mind was blank so my DH said "I think she needs a tissue." ( He only goes to WDW because I make him). It was the most amazing experience! Sorry this is so long.

Our most memorable moment happened to us about 2 hours after I proposed to DF. I had done it right after the park opened in front of the castle. we were coming across the walkway from tomorrowland on our way to GF-Cafe for lunch when this women ran up to us and asked if we had just become engaged. DF & I looked at each other almost freaked out and answered yes. the woman yelled to her husband " I told you we would find them" She then showed us a picture on her camera they had taken of the "moment" God Bless the pixie dust @ that moment. She got our address and mailed us a copy. What a great memory to have!! The rest of the trip and on all our trips going forward we look for ways to help spread the magic for others as this couple did for us.

So think about that the next time you are at the world, even if its as simple as offering to take a picture of a family, couple,or group of friends together. Maybe that 1 picture with all of them together will make a magical moment for them.

Sorry to get deep and sappy but after- all it isn't called the most magical place on earth for nothing ::MickeyMo

1) Getting Married at Disneyland and standing in line, dead tired, at Indiana Jones and Space Mtn. with our Bride and Groom Mickey Ears on to cap off the wedding night... ok, maybe THAT didn't CAP it off, but YKWIM!!!

2) "We're Gonna Miss the Parade!" Shrieks my sister as we convinced her to wait in line (pre FP days & Elec. Light Parade Days) for one last ride on Space Mtn. She was totally frantic... and my dh (then bf) teased the Heck out of her especially after we found a last minute awesome spot!!!

3) Last June my youngest dd22 months at the time decided to wear the Mickey Sorceror hat our ds had purchased. It was so big on her it went all the way down over her face, down her neck and basically sat on her shoulders... she walked around like that in the hotel, outside the hotel... all over... of course, she'd peek out from under it now and then, but she was just pleased as punch... and so cute... the funniest part was when we exited our room at the GF and stopped at the elevator to wait for it, she just kept right on going until she bumped into the wall... she just bounced off of it w/o falling, and turned and kept right on going... like a little lemming... "no big deal, I'll just go this way then" and she never bothered to take the hat off to see where she was going.... Of course we rescued her right away, but she was TOO Funny! I have pics of her walking holding daddy's hand with that big hat over her face!

Oh so many to think of!

1) The last night of our honeymoon was during hurricane Erin. We spent it just soaking up the atmosphere at the Tambu Lounge. The storm added to the atmosphere and it was really a nice night.

2)We went when DS was 3 1/2 and he was miserable. He complained about everything and I vowed not to take him anywhere again, LOL! The next year the "kids fly free" deal came out and we booked. Well this kid LOVED everything. The one thing that stands out was when we got off Dumbo he was all excited yelling "Can we do that again?". He finally got the Disney Magic.

3) Dec 28, 2003....my birthday. After dinner at the Kona Cafe we got drinks from the Tambu Lounge and went to the beach to watch Wishes. DS#2 played in the sand while DH, DS#1 and I sat on the lounge chairs. Can you tell I like the Poly? ;)

4) This past Dec when I took my first solo trip. It was something I never thought I could do so being there alone was just such an accomplishment for me.

The very first time I saw Cinderella Castle up close with my very own brown eyes! Oh I felt like a little girl! Aaahhhh! :lovestruc

My most magical moment was on my first CP. It was one of my first days of work on Main Street and we were stocking shelves. I started noticing buses of people, dressed rather nicely, heading toward the Castle. Being a newbie, I asked the CM that I was working with what was going on. They said it was probably some kind of party. Well a little while later, a man ON A WHITE HORSE came riding by. I again asked the CM, and they said oh it's probably an engagement party. Well a little while later...yup you guessed!! The BRIDE came in Cinderella'S glass carriage. Oh I cried!!! It was so beautiful!! What a great way to start off my Disney experience!!

Amanda

P.S. I could list a hundred other magical moments with the many wonderful guests I encountered, but I thought this was a great story!!

In 1968 when I was 8 years my twin six year old brothers and I along with our 3 slightly older cousins rode Pirates of the Caribbean at DL while our parents waited on a bench outside. Going down one of the small hills our boat crashed into a boat that had broken down. We had to sit for quite a while and were finally escorted out by foot getting to some some of the "behind the scenes" of the ride. Thankfully, no one was injured!

So many memories... But one that really sticks out is the first time I saw the Wishes fireworkes show. I wished for something... and it acctually came true! Lol. Yeah, but something about that show changed me... I dont know how... just something...

Pretty unforgettable, huh?? You were lucky to go that day....and it was free :snooty: We decided to skip that day altogether because the wonderful meteorologists couldn't pin down a time Charley was coming. So, knowing we weren't going to the park (also wasn't sure if it was going to be open-as per Disney), we decided to sleep in (till 8am). This is when I wake up to find out they were letting resort guests in-free. Had it just been me and DH, we would have gone to a park!! But, we spent the entire day (I mean EE @8am -arrived 7:30am- till after wishes.....got back to our room about 11:30pm!) at MK and DS was spent!! He didn't wake up till 9:30am that day!! So, to those who did go to the parks for those few precious hours that day of Charley...you're welcome for keeping my family out.....you got to ride something for us!!! (link to trip report (pics included of Charley) : http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=642054 )

Our kids were picked to open the gates at MK one morning. They both got certifcates and wands. The cert. were embossed and we had them framed. I always go back to that one. Seeing our brick by TTC was and still is fun. Seeing our LoL tile was also cool.

My first was when I was around 10 years old and I felt like I was in a dream when I first saw the monorail enter the Contemporary.

My second was on my honeymoon 13 years ago when we first arrived and sat by the resort pool sipping cocktails and thinking how great life was.

My third was last year when I took my 10 year old daughter in the pool and was just holding her while we were floating. We were just giggling because we were so happy to be on vacation at Disney.
