What is you dream number of points?

I'd like to have enough to spend the entire months of January and February at WDW in at least a 1 bedroom. That's not going to happen though, so it's just a dream!

I know I will have enough points when I no longer need to borrow from the next year. Originally I thought 220 was enough, then 330, then 450, then 560, now we are at 775 and still can't seem to have enough.

We only have 160 now but plan on adding on 60 - 80 when Contemp. goes on sale (sorry can't call it BLT :sad2: ) I would eventually like to have 500 - 600 but may adjust that number once retirement gets closer and we decide if Florida living is for us or not.

;) I have 260 and my dream number would be about 350. However, I have a suspicion that when I get to 350 my dream number will change to 450. I always seem to want 100 more than I have.

LOL! Well, we have 449, and I'm still dreaming, so you are definitely correct on that one!

hi, I currently have 700 points 350 of okw and 350 at boardwalk. waiting for the contemporary and will get 350 there. That way each kid gets a week in the future.

If I'm dreaming, then I might as well dream big! So my answer is enough points to stay there all year (I know that's not allowed; we're dreaming, remember?).

More realistically, I'd like to have 50 more points than we currently have. Right now, there's enough banked for the near future. But once those run out, we'll probably buy another 50.

We started w/350 points :thumbsup2 when we first joined.
We added 110 points to bring us up to 460 when the Chicagoland store opened up.:woohoo:
I think we'd probably like to add 150 to 200 more points on a resale at BW or BC, so we could do a nice trip at that resort area about every other year. :teacher:
After that.....:rolleyes1 We'll see what i can talk my family into.:cloud9:

My "Dream Number of Points" would be 4887.

This would allow me to stay at OKW in a 1 BRV from October 1st to March 31 each year. If you're going to dream, dream BIG !!!

I'll be in the minority here. We currently have 210 points and feel like we have too many. We just bought in last summer and have been on two week long trips since then. We got developers points as well as '06 banked points. We are having a hard time using them up.
We have a two and four year old, and are expecting our third in December. It's hard to plan vacations around a pregnancy especially when I hate the heat and going to Disney in the summer and pregnant is not my idea of fun.
We are using the rest of our 152 banked points for a trip to HH for my father's retirement gift. I'm having a hard time conceeding to the idea of renting. It just seems too scary.

I know in the future it won't be hard to use up the points. We already have a trip for 5 nights to HH planned for '09, and a Halloween trip planned for '09 as well.

I'm sure one day I will regret saying that we have too many points when we pay some obnoxious amount of money to add on.

while go in the summer?

can't you go during spring break (when the kids are in school) or fall break, winter break?

going in summer is NOT something I do.

go to WDW about 4 times a year - but summer is definitely not included.

March, May, Sept, Dec

if I go for 2 and with the cost of gas that might be happening - then March and Dec (might be Sept)

We probably won't ever go in summer unless we have absolutely no other time to go.

We didn't go this spring, b/c we just went in late Jan. We won't go in the summer because of the heat. Next fall will be getting too close to my due date. Plus, we don't want to add the cost of a vacation when I'm going to have to go on maternity leave for 2 months.

I was just explaining why THIS year we feel like we have too many points since we got develper and banked points. We live in Chicago, getting back and forth to Orlando gets expensive. Others can do three trips in one year, but it would be a lot for us with two little ones.

I'm sure in the future when we don't have all of the banked and developer points it will be no big deal to use all of our points.

OK, my dream is 500 points. I have 230 at SSR. Now the question. Do all of you who are accumulating points doing so at the same place? I was looking to buy more points and have seen good deals for points at other resorts. I have hesitated because I figured it would get complicated when making reservations. You know the 11 and 7 month windows.

While the 285 we currently own serve us perfectly, especially since we need the vacation time to match what that can get us, I'd love enough for 6 weeks a year......last week in February to first in April would be premo! But that's really really dreaming because we are YEARS away from snowbirding it.....

People who buy at different resorts (myself included) usually do so because they specifically want the 11 month booking window at each of those resorts. We own our main contract (number of points) at BWV, and have added on there twice because it's our favorite resort and location. However, we've recently purchased at AKV because we LOVE that resort too, not so much the location though, and want the 11 month booking window for at least an every two year stay.

It is manageable when you are using the 11/7 month windows, but iffy and it can be a hassle. If you are looking into adding on at another resort, look at enough to bank and borrow for that every few years stay, that might be an option. Good luck with your decision and have fun planning!

Wow my 500 goal looks small compared to some. Maybe I should re think;)

We have 210. With two young kids, I thought that was more than enough, since it allows us to stay in a studio for over a week each year. Of course, once I started thinking about a 1 bedroom, I realized that I probably should have bought 250 so that I could stay in a 1BR for a week each year, or in a studio for two weeks. So, if/when I do upgrade, I will first add 40 more to reach that level.

If I were to really dream, I would like to get enough points to stay for a month. My wife and I are teachers, so we have time in the summer. And, of course, when we retire, my dream would be to spend at least a month of the winter in Disney. For a studio, that would be about 500 points, I think. I can't see myself adding that much in the near future, but hopefully someday.

Our goal is 1,000 points, we currently have 610. Just Dh and I, but we want to be able to spend several weeks during Wine and Food Fest, and again most of January in a 1-bedroom. For us, our DVC is our retirement home.

We've got enough points to do what we want to do, which is Spring Break and almost three weeks in the summer. Now - much of that time is spent in studios, but it would take a lot more points to stay in bigger units and the two times we've been in 2-bedroom's with just the four of us - it felt too big. (We live in a 1917 bungalow, and I am not used to all the space).

I would, however, love to have about 100 points that I could use to treat people that could not afford it otherwise. When we had very young kids and DH was a pastor and I was a SAHM, the only way we were able to vacation anywhere was as guests of someone. I've got a long mental list of friends and families at church with small kids and SAHMs that I'd love to treat to Disney.
