Has this happened to any one else around here?

I got the mail today and in it was a bill for the Disney magazine........now mind you I had been getting it free with the Disney Club card. I had not wanted to continue with this at the non free price of either 19.99 or 10.00. Was all done.

Well now they have the nerve to send me a delinquent bill. They say I owe them for a subsription, I never wanted or authorized. They had the nerve to say that they will send me to collection and that I need to pay up. Don't you know there was not a single phone number on the darn thing either to clear this mess up. So I just turned around and resent the note along with a nice bit of controlled writing to tell them that I did not want the magazine nor had I authorized any subscription for one.

Made me mad!!!

Okay feel some what better now.

:D

I'm still paid through the end of the year for the DC so I am still getting it for free (will pay when the time comes though, I admit) so I haven't dealt with that yet. Sorry you did and that sounds like a pain. The closest I came to something like that was when a friend (as a joke  ) subscribed for a magazine for me and I was getting requests to pay. One simple phone call got that one taken care of :)

Oh and just as an FYI, the number of the Disney Magazine (if you ever feel like calling) is 800-333-8734

I bet we'll be getting one of those....:(

How long was your "free" subscription with the Disney Club card supposed to last? If it's past the time, and you've still been getting the magazine, you should have called someone at the magazine (the 800# must be printed somewhere in the beginning of the magazine) and told them you do NOT wish to continue. Otherwise, they will assume you'd like to continue and be billed...

It was supposed to last until August of this year. So I never thought anything about the magazine coming to the house. It will stop after that.......or is supposed to. All of the correspondence for a subsription was the fill in the yes box and return. No one here did that, checked with the others. When I called they (thanks to Helenabear) they said that it was renewed. It was just a matter of me telling them to take me off the list. So now I am a free woman. Makes me nuts on how this happened. Oh well an unexplained mystery.
