stories i am reading about. Where is it and what is the process of who gets to do it??? :confused3

Personally, I think it's totally overrated. The first person to askt the CM's in the store in Fantsyland called "Tinkerbell's Treasures" gets to wave a wand and lights go around the store and then she is caught in a drawer where you can look in and see her in the keyhole. It's a cute gimmick- but now that its "out" people are practically killing each other over getting there first and it's lost its lustre for me. Good luck if you try....

My DD (3 at the time) got to wake up Tink and it was one of the best parks of WDW for her. We did not run or push or try to beat anyone there. We had breakfast at the Castle in Sept. It was about 5 minutes after 9am and I thought why not and give it a try. It worked and she loved it.

The CM in Tinkerbell's Treasures told us in October that you'd better be waiting at the rope under the castle and sprint into the store to get to "wake her up." We saw it happen and just waited over by the bureau, so we were the first to see her in the drawer. DDs were just as happy.

My advice is to click on the "search" botton on the bar that has User CP, FAQ, etc. on it. Type in "wake tink", fantasyland and look for the thread with the most posts. It was a humdinger! It got almost as much play and controversy as pool hopping and refillable mugs. Read it there and you will get all your questions answered and then some. :rotfl2:

My DGD did not wake Tink, but we took her into the store, and she watched to see her fly. The CM took her over to peek in the drawer, and she was thrilled. While we had not experience waking Tink, the interaction between the CM and DGD was so personal that the little one is still talking about it. There was no Hoopla, just a little girl and a nice woman enjoying a little magic together.

I went to wake Tink at about 11am, asking them maybe Tink slept in late after a long night at EMH the night before. Evidently Tink is still a very early riser

After reading several posts here and on other Disney boards I knew my DD HAD to do this. So the last full day of our trip is was EMH at MK. So we were there before the park opened. When it was time to go in there was us and another family of 4 running down Main St. I wasn't sure if they had the same idea or not so I was "dragging" my 5 yr. old down Main St. My poor DD was crying because her legs hurt because I was making her run so fast. Once we realized the other family was heading to Tomorrowland we stopped and started walking because there was no one behind us. We got to the store and yelled "We want to wake up Tink". The CM looked at us like we were on crack.
He gave my DD a Tink wand and told her to tap the box 3 times and yell "Wake up Tink". Once she did that the lights lite up and "tinker bell" sounds came out. He gave her a certificate then and that was it. Totally not what I had expected at all! I figured there would at least be some pixie dust thrown. My advice would be if you can do it then do it, if not then you're not missing much. I felt sooo bad that I made my DD run all that way for prety much nothing.

We did this, and my girls loved it, and they have fond memories of it, and it will be something they always remember. With that said, I think this was one of those things that was left better unknown and people just happened upon it. Not very magical anymore. I think the magic comes from it being unknown and a surprise. Waking up Tinker Bell was not that.

Can anyone look at Tink in the drawer? I want to see but I'm always running for Splash Mountain when the ropes go down!

Yes. We just asked the CM, and she took my DGD over to the drawer and made it a very special time for her. She was treated as tho she was the only person in the store at that time. My DGD is still talking about how she was able to peek in the drawer and see Tink.
