I've been looking over the guide books, and it doesnt seem like theres a lot for ds to do there,he is 35lbs and 38inches tall.
Help,please :confused3

Safari ride, kali river rapids, triceratop ride, bugs life, festival of the lion king show (which is awesome),daily parade which is also very good, dinoland (carnival games which do cost but you get prizes if you win, and boneyard playground.

Tons of animals to see. I've always found lots of characters at AK too. The last 2 times we went we saw Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore, Rafiki, Terk, and the bears from Brother Bear (Koda and Keani) and best part little or no lines.

My kids also love the water dumpers on the way to the Tusker House.

We have always enjoyed AK, but its a much different experience than MK. There are often entertainers doing dancing and drumming which the kids are sometimes picked out to join in.

Its a more relaxing atmosphere I think.

good advice :thumbsup2 ,only the bugs life show might too intense for him,it scared me when I went on it,so I know he wont fare well.

My twin 2 year olds LOVED the safari ride and the boneyard - I literally had to drag them out of it! They also liked the different walking trails and seeing the animals.

FYI, one thing I did not know was that there are no straws in AK, and had a heck of a time getting my girls to drink out of a regular cup, it's just not a skill they've mastered yet.

we spent most of the day in the boneyard. The lion king show is very good and the parade is very good too! They liked the safari and walking through looking at the animals. We didn't even make it into asia, because we were in the boneyard all afternoon.

Thats true I should have added that.

Both my kids have done Bugs Life twice now but they certainly don't love it, more like tolerate it. But they don't care for any of the 3D shows. But I know other kids really do like the 3D shows, depends on the child.

I definetly wouldn't start with A Bugs Life as the first 3D show at Disney for them to try. I would probably suggest Mickey's Philamagic at the Magic Kingdom for a good first one and then judge from there knowing that A Bugs Life is more intense due to the story of the show.

You could also take the train to the Conservation Station. There are sometimes animals to see there, and characters. And the train ride would be nice. Also, the Jungle Trek where you get to see the bats, tigers and birds.

My kids are little and we find lots to keep us busy. (And bring straws!) ;)

Besides MK this is my girls favorite place. Thier is a lot of interaction here. Definitely more relaxed the shows mentioned above are definitly are great. Lion King, Bugs life(maybe) and Tarzan Rocks my girls love to dance to the music and watch the in-line skaters.

Family Fun has their info station around the park the kids can get stamped Might be a little over his head but it is there. Parade is excellent also.

My DD turned 2 on our last trip in June. She would still be in the boneyard today if we hadn't dragged her our of there.

Like all of the other parks, her favorite thing was just walking around looking at everything.

AK was the first park we went to - we ALL loved it from my DS3 to grandma and grandpa....My DS3 sat on my lap for Bugs Life...it was his first 3D show.

We found that bringing earplugs for the kids helped (my DS3 has sensitive ears)...we would go ahead and put them in before a show or ride - then he would tell me if he wanted them out. I think it saved us from leaving several shows/rides....

We thought AK was a great start to our trip - to us it seemed a more relaxed atmosphere...We did Donald's Breakfastourous (it was ok)...but the rest of the day was MAGICAL!! The parade was terrific too. We spent the whole day there and didnt see all of it....can't wait to go back.

Have a great time!
