What is the worst movie ever, in your opinion?

I am a huge Richard Gere fan. When I saw him hanging upside down in American Gigolo, I was hooked for life. Now, I will admit he has made some stinkers in his life, and I have always been loyal, but Autumn In New York was so very bad, I actually found myself rooting for her to die quicker just so the movie would end.

One of his stinkers was Dr T and the Women. That one is my choice for worst.

Okay, I'll play...My votes for the worst movie ever are "Legends of the Fall" and "Pulp Fiction". In both cases I watched them because of all the hype, and in both cases, I left the theater thinking that I must have missed something. In the case of LOTF, I couldn't see why everyone was so enamoured of Julia Ormond's character. I mean, she was an insipid, whiny, horny brat, mostly. And flame me all you want, Brad Pitt looked pretty much like he needed a shower throughout most of the movie. PF was just violent and stupid. I didn't get it at all. My mother agrees with whoever voted for "Dr. T and the Women", because she still talks about how much she hated that movie.

Conversely, I think that most of my favorite movies are ones that are consistently voted worst. "The Jazz Singer" with Neil Diamond is still one of my guilty pleasures, for sure. So my taste level may be suspect.

The Mask - I watched it with a friend and I looked at him at one point and went "What is going on?" His response "I have no idea"

angelhalo-Plan 9 is supposed to be the worst movie of all time. It is sooo bad, so utterly, absolutely ridiculous, that it is almost good. Almost.

Citizen Kane...supposedly the best movie of all time. What a let down. A sled?!!

I hated Hostel- I wanted to throw up…but I HAVE to finish watching movies…I get too much anxiety if I think that I won’t finish it. I hate the Saw movies too…but my husband drags me to go see them all….although I go to the bath room and walk around the lobby for a while.

Fantastic 4- the silver surfer? A friend asked us to go see this with him….we didn’t realize there was a first one!

No country for old men.

I didn’t get “No country for old men” either….but now I always say “whatcha doing Luellen? Where’d you get all that money?”

Microwave Massacre was pretty bad.

Now I want to see No Country For Old Men to see if I like it. Didn't it just win best movie and actor or am I thinking of something else? Did anyone like it?

I have to agree with Lost in Translation and Eyes Wide Shut. DH and I thought that Eyes Wide Shut would be a sexy date night movie. How wrong we were!

Jack E Bear. Lame Story AND boring. The only redeeming part of the movie was when someone in the audience said "Want a hit kids" in a stoned voice when the teacher with the ponytail came on screen. Otherwise it was Blah acting with a Blah nothing of a story. I want my two hours back.

Pulp Fiction. Terrible movie. Just jumped from one storyline bereft of anything redeeming to another. Reminded me of a certain Burt Reynolds stinker. Speaking of which.

Deliverance. Another God awful Burt Reynolds attempt at serious theater. I could have gone with any number of movies here. But this one fit the bill.

2001 A space idiocy. Oh boy look at these special effects. Oh look. MORE special effects. If they'd have actually had a decent story, acting, and directing to go with them, we'd have had a decent movie. But we didn't. We got major boring garbage.

Shanghai Surprise. Madonna+Sean Penn= I was lucky to even survive this stinker. I knew I was in for a bad movie when a female friend and I were the only ones in the theater. It got worse from there when I realized to my horror that she actually wanted to watch the movie.

Friday the 13th, parts 2-whatever.
Part 1 was a good movie. Suspense, A decent story. A bit of Gore but not too far out of line. Parts 2-whatever became pure cut em ups bereft of any real storyline other than people getting cut up. I may be making unfair assumptions about anything beyond part 3 because I never bothered to watch them.
