What is the usual way to rent points to stranger?

My friend, the one I'm getting the really good deal on renting points, has decided to rent points on the boards. How do most people do this? Does she make the reservation, get a deposit (half the price?), send the confirmation, then...how far ahead of the departure date should she get the rest of the money? I know she shouldn't take a personal check, cashier's check...money order...? Has anyone gotten burned here, on either end? I don't remember reading any posts about someone being taken, but has it happened? Her board name is Diane Irvin. If anyone can give her some advice about renting out her points, she's got a thread on the rent/trade board, maybe you could either email her or PM her. I wuld hate for her to get ripped off, since I am the one who told her about these boards! Thanks, guys!

She should make sure that she has provided protection for herself in any contract she enters into to rent points. Be specific with payment due dates- if she accepts a check- make sure to allow time for it to clear her bank.

She should have some form of simple written contract outlining what she expects of the renter and what the renter can expect from her. It should include payment due dates, cancellation policy and refund policy- if any.

Also tell her to enjoy the process!
