Just wondering what are the taxes I will be paying on my food in Florida?

The dining plan is going to cost us $102 per day...we are trying to decide if we want to do it this trip and would love to know the exact price of the plan with taxes.

Thanks...

The exact price of the Dining Plan is $38.99 per adult per night, and $10.99 per child under 10 per night, total. The sales tax on Food (well, everything) in Florida is 6.5%, but you do not pay any additional money per night for the plan over the $38.99/$10.99 published prices.

Thank you... do you know if that dining plan price is the same at DVC resorts?

Depends where on property... part of WDW is Orange County & part is Osceola County. Sales tax at one is 6.5% & the other is 7% (I forget which is which).

The basic Sales Tax rate in Florida is 6.0% and is on most goods and services. The counties have an option, by vote of their residents, to add a surtax of 0.25%, 0.5%, 1.0% or 1.5% to the state rate.

Orange County, which is most of WDW has a surtax of 0.5%, so purchases (including meals) are taxed at 6.5%.

Osceola County, which has the All-Stars Resorts and Wide World of Sports in it, has a 1.0% surtax so purchases at those locations are subject to a 7.0% tax.
